Place was fantastic, staff friendly, great location, fantastic pricing. Good room sizes, however that damn thermostat light it is so bright i had to cover it up. And the crazy part even with it being covered it was a nightmare its so bright why? That was annoying we could not sleep other than that it was great

The south rim of the grand canyon is a 5 minute walk from the lodge. The sidewalks are paved so it is a quick and safe walk to the bright angle lodge and trail head.

Maswik Lodge is both historic and updated at the same time (the older parts remain, but part of the lodge has been renovated, so it is possible to enjoy the best of both worlds). We stayed in the renovated/newer parts, and everything was perfect. The room was very clean, the balcony was fantastic (but no views), and best of all the staff at the front desk were so wonderful and helpful. The front desk reached out to us on text message the day of our arrival to have everything set to go once we arrived..super efficient and definitely felt like an advanced corporation on top of technology more than a rustic lodge!! (In the best ways :) So thankful that they have kept the charm of the historic lodges at Grand Canyon!! Especially with the North Rim Lodge being lost to fires in 2025, having the South Rim lodges remaining historic, it is such a rare treat in the modern lifestyle to find such lovely places to stay in the USA. Would go again in a heartbeat!!

Internet doesn’t work most of the time, tried calling the front office multiple times - no response. Tried calling Xanterra, no response. All in all, a poor experience. Good location of the property.

Room did not have a microwave. coffee maker was not warming the water enough. Without the microwave we could not boil water for tea or coffee and could not warm up the leftover food. Internet was slow and have hard time connecting. They should not offer internet if they will not provide a reliable service. Luckily we had 5G cell service.

The room was spacious and newly updated! The lodge was walking distance to the rim of the canyon. We were able to see wildlife (deer and moose) around the lodge, in the morning and the evening!
