"The hotel is very charming inside from the chocolate chip cookies and popcorn to the lemonade and coffee bar. They had a great selection of breakfast items too. The hotel has a selection of board games and a sitting area to play, which was fun!. A few negatives; bathroom floor was dirty, like the tile needed to be deep cleaned. The bathroom door does not stay open and slams shut. You need to have a door stop. The entrance of the hotel has no awning to provide some protection from the rain. The hotel rooms in the back of the hotel with a view of the Mississippi, showed a lot of liter and trash along the waterline of the hotel property. Also the attached Backwater Bar & Grill had live music which was a good time. Negative, you had to have a tab of $20 or more to use credit card, otherwise you needed to pay cash. The entire city seemed to be cash only! 😕 Very cute hotel and we plan on returning!"

"This was a wonderful house in a serene area. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen was very adequate and nice outdoor space.The hot tub seemed to be not very clean, but we did enjoy it."

"We loved the space to spread out the family! We also loved that it was dog friendly, however, it would have been nice to know that we’d need to Venmo the owner a dog fee. The listing didn’t mention that. The kids loved the hot tub. The place does need a good deep clean. There was no cleaning fluid/mop/paper towels or anything available to clean myself. When packing linens you will need kitchen towels and wash cloths, not just bedroom/bathroom linens. Also the steep driveway wasn’t plowed when we arrived. Found a busted shovel to clear a path to the doors and to try and get the second vehicle up the hill. The snow removal guy came about an hour after check in. Since we stayed in winter the price was decent but I would be very disappointed to pay summer prices with the level of cleaning that needs done. There was also a constant stream of lady bugs coming in. They were on everything. The window sills were filled with dead ones. "

"We were a group of 6 staying for 3 nights. The house was nice, not a clean as we expected, but ok. Water in the house was a big issue. Water pressure was extremely slow. If two people were taking showers at the same time there was no pressure at all. It also listed 3 bathrooms, there were 3 but one was a half bath. It worked for us but if all the bedrooms in the house were occupied it would not have. Loved the area!"
