The two receptionists we spoke to were very kind, however both rooms we were assigned to were awful. This is supposed to be a non smoking hotel and the first room we were assigned to on the first floor smelled so badly like cigarettes that we had to ask for an immediate room change. Our daughter has asthma but even if she didn’t, the smell was so overwhelming that when you walked in, it felt like a huge cloud of cigarette smoke was pushed in your face. My husband developed a small headache in the 10 minutes he was in the room.
The second room we were assigned to was even worse. While it only vaguely smelled like smoke, it was a mess. We had been warned the pull out bed on the couch didn’t work but that was fine with us because it was late and we didn’t need it, so we took the room. What we hadn’t been warned about was the fact that someone had done something, such as a punch, to the bathroom door leaving a really poorly done patch job. It also couldn’t close all the way. The walls and floors had stuff on them, the bathroom didn’t even look like it had been mopped, and the paint on the tub was peeling so badly that we skipped very much needed baths and showers after our 11hr day of driving.
We still had another 10hr+ drive the day of our checkout and had already checked in really late so we begrudgingly stayed and went to sleep out of pure exhaustion. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless necessary.
