Nice hotel for a good price…

No upgrade… small queen bed but clean room and big… very hard to walk downtown because no sidewalks around the hotel…

Hotel package was advertised to have free breakfasts dusting time of booking but was told no breakfasts at checkin. Room was not soundproof but advertised as sound proof. A lot of noise came from traffic below and from room above. Booking was made thru Expedia website in US and was asked to provide screenshot of hotel offer during time of booking while the visitor had arrived at the hotel property thousands of miles away from US, in Ipoh.

The property itself was excellent. My room had a beautiful view of this beautiful city. It was quiet. Breakfast buffet was very good. The problem is the location. I like to walk and I asked the front desk if there were any convenience stores or food outlets within walking distance. I was told no. I took Grab to get around no problem. But I also looked at a map and started doing some walking. Turns out you can get to a lot of good shopping and eating areas no problem such as Greentown and Ipoh Parade. Just need to be willing to walk a bit. But caution, there are no sidewalks.

I booked this hotel partly due to the laundry facility. Unfortunately it was down during my 4 days stayed and the staff told me under maintenance. And it was not done till I checked out.

Lifts broke down

What can I say? All lifts were not working at 6am on the morning of my departure date. I had to walk down 8 floors with a 20kg suit case in order catch my flight.

Overall a pleasant stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, The air-conditioning was very good. Their in-house WiFi was somewhat unreliable at times. It was a little inconvenient for self parking guests. Each time you exited the basement carpark, you would have have your ticket/card validated at the front desk before going to your car. It would be better if they could provide guests with a parking pass for the duration of their stay.

I find it inconvenient that we need to validate the car park ticket at the hotel reception on every exit. Hope they will improve this system.
