Great service at the lodge. Accoms were well-appointed, clean and not too close together. The surroundings were beautiful. We were very happy to have chosen Sundance by Basecamp for our time in Kananaskis!

5 Star Tee pee Camping

My son & I wanted to tent and decided on this version of camping instead. It was amazing. We had a fire every night. There was a heater inside the Tee pee and it made the inside very warm and pleasant. We brought our own bedding. We had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Being together & out doors in nature. Nothing better. I loved it. Plus we had the best weather. We had a Staff member named Shelby who was fantastic stop by and was so kind to my son. Amazing. Can’t say enough good things. Next time we want the Miners Tent. 5 star all the way

I stayed here for two nights with my dog and, unfortunately, I’m not sure I would return. We were placed in a type of tent I hadn’t expected—one that required a walk-in—despite having packed to live out of my trunk. Our site was also directly beside an incredibly loud family (playing booktapes and full volume, fighting, letting their kid wander into my site, etc.), which made it difficult to even stay at the site (I would've left, but nothing was available in the area) The manager was unavailable until day 2, and although the staff were polite, they weren’t able to offer any real help (why not move me to another available site, let me use the wagon to carry stuff in, etc.). The next morning I asked to speak to the manager, and though she apologized and let me know the noisy family was leaving, she did not offer any discount or refund despite the disruption. The first half of my stay felt completely overshadowed by the noise and the lack of support. I want to support this business, but it didn’t feel like they cared about my experience, and their minimal efforts did not compensate for the terrible first night

Disappointing Stay-Misleading Listing &Lack of sup

Here’s a refined and polished version of your review that captures your experience more clearly and professionally, while keeping your honest tone: --- The site itself was clean, but unfortunately, the unit had no heating—something I wasn’t made aware of beforehand. With the weather sitting at just 8°C, it made for an extremely uncomfortable experience. I was very disappointed. Additionally, the accommodation I booked—based on what was advertised online—was completely different from what I received. (Screenshot attached for what I booked) I was forced to stay in a very basic tent (see attached photo) that felt unsafe, especially as someone staying in this kind of environment for the first time. When I raised my concerns, the staff informed me they had no control over what Hotels.com displays on their site. Their proposed solution? A different room with heat—at an additional $135 per night. This felt deceptive and unfair. To make matters worse, I tried contacting Hotels.com during check-in, but their phone lines were down. I received repeated messages stating they could not take calls. This added even more frustration to an already difficult experience. Overall, this felt misleading and dishonest.

Our site was very big and private and the trappers tent was great. Only downside was the bathrooms - definitely could use an upgrade. Dark and musty. Outhouse was not clean. Could have been a one-off.

It was our first time "glamping" and it was the best experience. Everything is very straightforward, the staff is friendly, and they will help with anything you need. The property is so lovely. We had a great family time.

great experience..a bit on the pricey side ...not enough space in the showers..they were always full and very dirty...the trappers tent was beautiful however I didn't sleep well thinking that the kerosene heaters in the tents has a sticker that stated please use with door open! small of the kerosene hung in the air like a fog you could taste in your mouth. tent across from us had a baby that cried all night long for two nights straight. could not park at the campsite itself - had to park down the road and that is not easy when you have to lock up anything that is an attractant to bears..

We had a great experience at Sundance Basecamp. The property was quiet and peaceful, which made for a very relaxing stay. The campsites are thoughtfully laid out and well-organized, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the surroundings. It was clean and well-maintained. What I don't like: the Tipi's has no solar plug in powers to charge electronic devices, would be nice if there is also power in each Tipi Family sites to charge phones so we can use it for GPS for our hikes plan during the stay. Otherwise, highly recommend for anyone looking for a calm and comfortable camping getaway!

We had a great stay! The tent was really cozy, it had two comfy queen beds already made, a nightstand, lights, a beautiful macramé decoration, and a solid floor with the cutest mats. There was free on-site parking for two cars, a big picnic area with a large food table, and free games to borrow right by the green space. The surrounding trails were amazing for walking, biking, and hiking. Since it’s in a Provincial Park, the wildlife and nature were absolutely stunning. If you’re new to camping, like us, this place is the perfect way to ease into it. You still get that outdoor experience, but with all the cozy touches and amenities. No need to worry about setting up a tent or bringing bedding, everything’s ready for you when you arrive. They will provide you towels and a lot of rental supplies… and the best part, it’s pet friendly. We got lost at midnight and a really nice lady responded to our call and escorted us to our campsite. It really is the perfect mix of comfort and outdoors!

i loved that I did not have to set up a tent in the rain or tear down and pack a tent in the rain. It was AMAZING. And I could still enjoy camping. It would be nice if all sites had a private outhouse (since it seemed like most actually do)

We loved it here!! Stayed in a glamping tent that came with the bed made and it was super cozy. Linens, beds, and pillows were top notch and the tent had a heater if needed. Lamps and phone chargers were a nice touch. Clean bathrooms, super hot showers, has shampoo conditioner and body wash in them. Trading post is cute, staff is excellent. Gorgeous sites - trees separate them and not too close to others. Would 100% stay here again.
