Got very timely and accurate communications from the property manager. No problem "checking in" with lockbox, etc. The space was just as advertised - beds were very comfortable and clean, plenty of towels in the bathroom, A/C kept the space at a comfortable temperature.
The listing did give a heads up about the noise level (since it's sitting in a working marina with lots of boats and fishermen in and out!), overall the noise level was just fine / not a problem (and very quiet during the "quiet hours"!
The only issue we had was bugs. Didn't see any the first day we checked in. We did not eat any meals or drink anything other than water in the room - but, the second day when we came back from being away most of the day, there were several bugs (perhaps 8-10) in the sink in the kitchen. They scurried into the space BEHIND the counter/sink - so likely needs some bug control in the sink area!
We were so impressed with the property. It was super clean and had all the amenities we needed. I was worried about staying on a houseboat with 3 senior parents but they had a great time. Best part was the deck in front where we could sit, relax, eat breakfast and watch the pelicans. Looking forward to staying here next time we are in the area.
This was a different and overall positive experience. Everything went well, and when we had an issue with the toilet, it was fixed immediately, which I really appreciated. Parking can be a problem â one night we had nowhere to leave the car because there were no available spaces. Overall, I liked the place. Just a heads-up: thereâs no soap or shampoo provided, so bring your own.
This was a really cute place to stay! It isnât going to be for everyone if you want fancy amenities but it was clean, comfortable and had everything you need.
The best part of it was seeing all the wildlife! We saw a manatee, so many types of cool birds including pelicans that were close enough to touch and fish.
The Hurricane Holeâs food is delicious!
There is a kayak rental place right on the property as well where you can rent kayaks, paddle boards, etc.
Really cool place for active families!
If you have little children or people who need accessibility know that everything is along a dock pathway that doesnât have railings if that is something that will worry you.
Really fun adventure!
Absolutely loved this property. Very affordable, cozy and good quality stays. Be ready for a little fish smell when walking outside! But I did not mind that.
We enjoyed the small deck that allowed us to watch the boat activity. The shower was so slick it was dangerous to use. It was a little inconvenient to either walk on the short gravel path or walk on the decking and step over all the hoses that were used by the fishing boats. Overall, it was about what we expected from the web site description.
Pros: clean, comfortable bed, nice location if you want to be a little outside the main touristy area.
Cons: a little pricey for the space $500 on night 2/22
Awesome place, with a cool location right near the mangroves. Has a little restaurant and bar and gift shop, as well as kayak tours and rentals. Paddle boards too. We liked the visits from the manatees and nurse sharks near the fish cleaning station. Only negatives I have are that the ceiling fan chains were broken and harder to reach, some of the pillows were a bit yellowish and have seen better days and multiple devices like the Air conditioner and TV remotes batteries were dead, but they delivered new ones promptly! Would love to stay here again some day with my family, the boat easily slept 6 people, but there were only two of us this time.
This was a terrific quick visit, will be back next year for a longer stay. Boat was clean, deck was nice to sit and have a meal or watch the water and the activities. Recommend highly!
