Sandra and Eduardo are waiting for you with Portuguese flavors to taste, a delicious champagne Sangria with red fruits to celebrate your holiday. Welcome! Be our guest!
This beautiful house, built in the 1930s, was completely renovated in 2016. It is a designer house with a new interior, but with all the charm of a traditional Portuguese house. Every detail has been made with LOVE. It is located in the BanzĂŁo-Colares pine forest (Sintra), in a very private and safe area, surrounded by the beauty of Sintra forest. Wonderful beaches and many historical sites are very close. You can walk or cycle on the beach.
This two story house can accommodate 11 guests with every comfort. The first floor has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The second floor has three more bedrooms and two bathrooms. Three crib or infant beds are available upon request. There are two living rooms (one with smart tv), a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen.
The doors are open to the living room, with garden furniture, an outdoor dining table and chairs, a kitchen near the barbecue, surrounding a beautiful pool (8 X 4 Mts) WITH FENCE PROTECTION, with 8 sun loungers + 4 garden chairs with towels.
Heated pool on request (Pool heating: EUR 25 extra charge per day). Pool heating depends on weather conditions - usually possible from April until October.
We have an additional bike rental service. It's great to go to the beach and restaurants by bike.
For children, but also for adults, we have a separate games room near the garden with ping pong and badminton. We have a children's playground in the 16 m2 garden and a wooden house that the kids will love!
Imagine sitting by the pool, having your breakfast and planning an exciting day exploring Sintra, the nearby towns and historic villages.
It is our intention to provide everything you need to experience the best of Portugal!
For periods longer than 6 days, our housekeeper cleans the house and provides clean towels in the middle of your stay.
Taxi service available: from 1 to 4 people 50 € total. From 5 to 8 people 80 € total (Airport to Barca Charmhouse and vice versa).

Accueil chaleureux!

Nous avons reçu un accueil chaleureux à notre arrivée avec une foule de petites attentions! La maison jaune a su plaire à toute la famille! Nous avons trouvé que la maison était trÚs bien équipée. Accueil et Séjour trÚs agréables

À part une chambre aveugle mal aĂ©rĂ©e en sous sol, le logement est bien amĂ©nagĂ©. La cuisine extĂ©rieure est particuliĂšrement agrĂ©able. Les ustensiles de cuisine, les plats et les couverts sont fournis en grande quantitĂ© de mĂȘme que les serviettes de toilette et de piscine. L'amenagement extĂ©rieur est tellement agrĂ©able que nos petits enfants ont prĂ©fere jouer dans la propriĂ©tĂ© plutĂŽt que de sortir. Et surtout, nous avons Ă©tĂ© trĂšs bien reçu par le propriĂ©taire qui nous a offert un pot de bienvenue, puis un souvenir au moment de notre dĂ©part.

A beautiful property ideally suited to our family of 7 adults and 2 children.

This villa has been beautifully restored and is very well cared for. It is well equipped with good quality fittings, two dishwashers - one in the kitchen, the other in the barbeque/outdoor dining area. The location is perfect with easy access to excellent beaches and places of interest. The hosts, Sandra and Eduardo, are very welcoming and helpful, also easily contactable. They have prepared an excellent dossier with suggestions for activities and outings. We made great use of the pool. I was pleased to have paid extra to have it heated to ca. 29C, that way everybody of all ages could enjoy it. Otherwise, the temperature would have been ca. 22C.

Nous avons passé une semaine en mai à Colares dans cette villa, qui répond à tous les critÚres : belle décoration, trÚs bien équipée, avec beaucoup de confort, idéalement située pour visiter Sintra et ses alentours, des hÎtes charmants. Sandra et Eduardo sont d'une grande et vraie gentillesse. Ils mettent tout en oeuvre pour que le séjour se passe bien. Nous étions 6 adultes et 4 enfants. Chacun a trouvé ces marques dans cette belle et grande villa. Une voiture est indispensable. Il y a des transports mais à cette saison pas trÚs souvent et les horaires ne sont pas faciles à trouver :-), hormis pour Sintra et Lisbonne Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir Merci Sandra et Eduardo

Well, where to start ? Barca House is so lovely, decorated with taste, everything is thinking for our confort : room layout, the sublime bed sheets, bathrooms, there is everything you need in the kitchen. We appreciated the living room with the big tv, perfect for kids on the evening ! The summer kitchen is perfect too. About the garden, it is like the rest of the house, extremely well thought out. For children there is a play corner and even a sandbox ! The pool is great and clean ! We really feel like home, really ! And about Sandra and Eduardo... they are exceptional people ! Extremely dedicated, kind, welcoming and always listening. We really apreciate the welcome meal where we ate copiously the Portuguese specialties, and for the departure Sandra made us pancakes (crĂȘpes in french) ! Not to forget all the attentions during the stay (as the translation of information on visits in French). We were 11 with kids, and everyone loved his stay. We will advise Barca House with our eyes closed to our friends, and if we can, we will come back with great pleasure. Thank you for everything Sandra and Eduardo !

Leuk ingericht huis, prima voorzieningen. Sommige badkamers mogen wel een opknapbeurtje hebben, maar voldoende warm water. We hebben uitgebreid gebruik gemaakt van het zwembad. Dichtstbijzijnde strand op 2,5 kilometer. De kamers waren prima schoon. De gastvrijheid was prima.

This was so much fun staying here, we really enjoyed it!Sandra was extremely responsive and helped us a lot with planning transport ahead of the trip. She also prepared some amazing food for our arrival as well as arranging a meal one of the evenings at our request. We were three families travelling with four young children and the house was set up perfectly for our needs with plenty of ways to keep the children entertained. The only reason for the lower vote was that we found some of the local restaurants weren’t very welcoming to young families - for a group of adults I think it would be a good area to stay in.

The photos do not do the property justice - particularly the outdoor areas. It is so beautiful. Sandra is a very accommodating host, allowing us to check in early due to our flight arrival time and was there to greet us when we did arrive. We cannot thank Sandra enough for the wonderful stay we had in a Barca charm house and would not hesitate to recommend anyone stay here!

Superb hosts, very friendly and helpful. always on hand to offer tips about the area or house. The villa is in an excellent location, close to beaches, lovely towns like Sintra very close and Lisbon is even close enough for visits . A wonderful family gathering.

We chose the Barca Charm House for its location, family friendliness and wonderful reviews. Each review referred to the hospitality of our hosts and I have to agree with previous reviewers, Sandra and Eduardo were exceptional. The house is comfortable and fully equipped. There was everything you could possibly need and so much more. The only item we were unable to bring with us was a potty for our 2 year old. Sandra was immediately on the case and brought a brand new potty round which was so helpful! There is so much to see and do in the area that a week just wasn’t long enough. We left with heavy hearts. Our family are spread out over the world and time spent together is very precious. We made many happy memories in the Charm house. Thank you Sandra and Eduardo. Wishing you both health and happiness.

Hemos estado 4 dias y la experiencia es de 100 en todo. Los dueño un encanto. Te enseñan y explican todo a la perfección y te reciben con comida típica de alli. La casa una pasada, las habitaciones amplias con colchones y almohadas super comodas. Todo lo necesario para pasar unos dias. Papel higienico, de cocina, toallas, ...El exterior super chulo para hacer barbacoa y que los niños juegen con todo lo que tienen.Tienen bicis que se pueden utilizar para ir a la playa y hacer una mini excursion con los niños. Perfect Family Holiday

I booked this villa for my wife’s surprise 60th, she wasn’t aware the rest of the family was there the day before. we are a 3 generation big family ranging from 9 months to 60 and based on the fact it had five bedrooms and 4 separate bathrooms it was perfect, when we arrived it stood up to our expectations plus more, it’s a perfect villa for big families, the pool, garden, the BBQ and outside kitchen all made it a holiday not to be forgotten. It’s central to all your needs, a day trip to Sintra, Lisbon, the local beach’s , shops and restaurants, I would recommend the fish restaurant called Bar Do Fundo at the end of the beach road of Praia Grande and watch the sun set, if you want simple food and some great beers then head off to the beach village and try AMA stone bake Pizzas A massive thank you to Sandra & Eduardo for your hospitality and arranging a traditional Portuguese birthday meal for us , the paella was out of this world😘

The perfect place to stay! Highly Recommend

We had 9 adults, children aged 7, 6,2 and newborn. The Barca Charm house was perfect for all ages! We loved the outdoor kitchen and the pool. Wonderful communication. Sandra and Eduardo had excellent communication and recommendations for our group. Their welcome Portuguese starters and Sangria were delicious as well as the meal they prepared for us. It’s an excellent location with bus stop right outside to Sintra or the beach. Ubers were cheap and came quickly too. Easy walk to Colares for groceries and brewery. We would stay here again and highly recommend! Thank you for opening your home to us

The BEST!!

The Barca Charm House was our dream come true for a 50th wedding anniversary with the whole family (12 of us). Every little thing to make your vacation special has been thought of - we loved the beautiful decor with all it's colorful accents, toys & activities for kids, deightful pool, and the ourtdoor kitchen SO much!! The location is also PERFECT for enjoying Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and all the lovely beaches and quaint coastal villages that are nearby. Colares itself is a terrific little non-touristy town - a fabulous base for our 9 days. There even is excellent bus service to the beaches and towns right at the end of our little private road! While everything about the house gets a 10+ in our book, the best is the incredible hosts, Sandra and Eduardo. They were so attentive, right from the start - and so helpful answering our many questions. They were always quick to respond with the perfect restaurant recommendation to the best fish markets to a wonderful local place to wacth Portugal play in Euros 2024! I cannot stress how much they added to our enjoyment! We left the Charm House feeling like we now had "family" in Portugal. We'd be back in a heartbeat - it is just the BEST!!! A million thanks, Sandra and Eduardo, for helping us to have the best vacation/family reunion ever!

Perfect house for family reunion!

The owners Sandra and Eduardo were amazing. They greeted us with Portuguese appetizers and sangria at their lovely home. They were very helpful, honest, caring and thoughtful. The house was great for our party of 12. Nine adults and 3 children. We loved the outdoor kitchen, nice extra space to hang out. The house is big and wonderful for larger groups. We were all together but everyone had their privacy at the same time. Very spacious. Very close to a bus stop with connection to Sintra. We took a train from Sintra to Lisbon, very easy. The house is located approximately 30 min walk from the beach, and the beach is beautiful. House is very well equipped, we had everything we needed. We appreciated that previous guests left spaces etc. in the pantry. Very helpful when trying to cook . I would highly recommend the house . Thank you Sandra and Eduardo for making our vacation so special. We appreciate your traditional Portuguese gift as well!!! We had an awesome time at your house.
