Usually a great stay but there was a fire

We have stayed at this hotel several times when we go to CA and always have a pleasant stay. This last trip was different because the room a couple units down from ours caught on fire. The whole place was evacuated for what seemed like eternity! When we were let back in the floor was soaked and our room smelled like smoke but thankfully none of our belongings were damaged. This was not a great experience.

We had high hope for the stay at this location, however, it was overall kinda disappointing. The parking situation was very discouraging; not only the parking area is very tight, we had to park near the other building which is quite a distance from the building we were assigned. Once settled into the room, we realized that the room is smaller than most of the IHG locations, and there were not enough towels for our family of 3. I then found hair on the bathroom floor. The refrigerator in the room was not functioning; we didn’t notice it until the next morning and it was already too late. All the items we placed in the refrigerator had to be thrown away. The breakfast was nice, enough to get the day started. The staffs were kind enough to offer us some discount after they verified the malfunctioning refrigerator. We had stayed at multiple IHG properties and this is one of the few that was not up to its standards. Hopefully, the management will take the opportunity to improve the maintenance of the amenities.

The stay was overall excellent. The room was clean, the staff were wonderful. There was one evening where the fire alarms were constantly going off for several hours in the early morning. My partner and I got up repeatedly, walked down the stairs to evacuate, just for the alarms to be manually shut off. This happened more than 10 times on one night, and left us with barely any sleep for that day. There was no information about the alarms shared afterwards, so we just assumed it was a faulty smoke alarm in one of the rooms. The same situation happened on another night, but the alarms only went off 2 or 3 times. Other than that night, our stay was enjoyable and we were happy with our decision to book here.

The bed was very comfortable and I also like the fact that they had dove products in the shower. The staff was friendly and the breakfast food offerings were large and delicious. I would stay there again.
