Avis pour Waterfront House w/ 35ft Dock & Easy Bridge Access
Family vacation in Marathon: We planned a vacation for two and since it was school break. week-ended with 4 adults and 2 children. The house was perfect. The grandchildren loved the loft especially the "shark" comforter. The kitchen was stocked with just about any utensil we could need. The house was clean, had more than adequate linens and the waher/dryer was a huge plus. The deck and canal provided entertainment for all ages. The location was excellent and peaceful. The use of texting for information was very good, and the one time I needed to speak to someone for information,it was easy.
Well appointed and maintained vacation home in a great location - on a lagoon with lots of wildlife, beautiful shaded porch with table, lounge chairs, landscaped for privacy. Perfect for two couples - with opportunities for walking, biking, kayaking, fishing, dining, shopping right outside the door. Spent time daily on Pigeon Key bridge - biking, walking, watching rays, sharks, turtles. Minutes to great beaches - Bahia Honda and Sombrero - and all of the dining/ shopping options in Marathon.Kitchen was well appointed with all manner of pans, blenders, utensils, knives to do whatever cooking/ baking/ eating in was desired. Beds were very comfortable and living space suitable for gathering with four people - porch provided additional shaded living space for hanging out and eating.Ground floor utility room/ laundry was perfect for storing bikes, fishing equipment, kayak gear, etc. A couple of minor issues that arose were quickly dealt with by the Island Breezes team of Robin and Randy (i.e. toilet tank running continuously).Exceptional rental⊠we will be back!
Island Breeze was one of the best vacation homes we have ever rented in the Keys. Very clean and great location. The dock was very large and perfect for our 30ft boat. Lots of fish and life in the bay. Caught plenty of fish right off the dock, but they get pretty smart after a while. Caught Tarpon right outside of the lagoon and 7mile bridge fishing was minutes away. The ice maker was a plus. Saved us a lot of $ from buying ice. Bait freezer was nice and large too. Beds were also very comfortable. One thing they could add that would attract fishermen would be a bait cage, buckets, cooler, and possible pinfish trap. We did donated a couple buckets and a cooler for future renters to use. I highly recommend this place.
Place was convenient for anyone going fishing. 7mile bridge is right there. Deep private canal that opens up into a big round pool. Place itself was exactly what we look for to go on a fishing tripâŠclean comfortable and located close to bait, fuel and good fishing grounds. Pleasant neighbors that also were down to fish
Typically I stay in the lower keys but I would definitely stay here again if Iâm in marathon
I will not bash this property because the bed and deck were fabulous but I'll be honest about the home!
1) Island Breeze Realty was great to work with on the rental.
2) I had to order a TV in order to watch ESPN and other channels. Their TVs recieved about 12 channels and 5 were in Spanish. Two tvs were about 20 years old and there was a smart tv was in the guest bedroom but you needed a ROKU code to add anything to the 32 inch television.
3) The furniture in the den was old and small. All the cushions were worn out.
4) There wasn't a can opener with the kichen utensils and utensils were marginal.
5) The floor fan was so loud that it couldn't be used.
6) The deck was large and had a great view. The deck furniture sat so low and you couldnt see over the hand rail while relaxing.
7) There is a house about 20 feet away. The steps going to the houses are shared.
8) The house is quite tight for 2 couples. One family would be okay.
9) The neighbors next door live there and are wonderful.
10) There is a sewer plant close by so be prepared for the occasional odors.
11) There is an ice maker under the house. The ice maker in the house doesn't work so be prepared to go up and down 20 steps.
12) Great fishing from the pier and wonderful location for boating in the gulf and ocean.
13) Sunset grill is a short crawl away.
I feel the amount of money I spent for 3 weeks that it should be better.
We were in marathon for one week and had a great stay! Ice maker downstairs really helped a lot! Kitchen and second bathroom was on the smaller side but definitely manageable. It was great to be right on the water and have the downstairs room for boat storage! Overall a great stay.
We had a great time at this property. We got texted the door code when it was ready. Nice quiet street, great deck and dock area. Everything worked as it should, the place was nice and clean. Any questions we had were answered quickly. For fishing, this location was great, its a 2 min ride to the 7 mile bridge area and great access to the Atlantic and Bay side. The beds were comfortable, great little 1st floor area to store our dive and fishing gear. The Ice maker was great and saved us from buying ice everyday to put our fish on. Would definitely rent this again.
The dock space has a cleaning table with a fresh water hose and an Electrical outlet to plug in to. The view from the deck is fantastic overlooking the cove that is well protected and very calm. Lots of Tarpon rolling inside the cove along with Manitees who love to come by to say hello while rinsing your boat down with fresh water. There are a few large iguanas who hang out on by the dock not very scared of humans in the mangrove bushes who love to fight over pieces of fish when cleaning fish at the cleaning table. 7 mile bridge is the closest great fishing location with your boat and the 7 mile bridge reef pile 5 miles off shore brings in lots of boats all anchored up but the area is so big there is plenty of room and fish as it will easily fill your limit of Mangrove and lane snapper. Lots of lobster floats on the way out there so be careful to navigate around them. The house is comfortable but the kitchen is very small if you don't like to climb ladders then the top loft isn't for you.there is 2 nice downstairs bedrooms as there is a bathroom in the master bedroom. The boat ramp we used is the 33rd street boat ramp a short ride on the bay side around 7 mile bridge. We loved early morning and sunsets on the boat on the bay side of the bridge. There is a resort across the property and very clean area.it is very quiet and relaxing . There is a washer and dryer along with an ice machine and a large bait freezer in the bottom of the house. Would love to visit again!
We loved our time here; and would definitely book again. The house was clean and comfortable. The lagoon off the back dock was amazing. Everyday the manatees would come around. You can catch mangrove snapper right there, paddle board or get on your boat to hit the big water. Just around the block was a great restaurant. You could walk or drive your boat up. The kids loved swimming in the pool while we waited, had drinks and watched the sunset. It was an all around great location.
Small freezer broken. Leak from the shower to the storage area. Nobody came to fix. No parking for boat trailer after launching the boat. No water to rinse trailer after launching the boat.
We cannot say enough about this property and the communication from the team managing it. The house was spotless and the location amazing. The dock was a wonderful addition for our boat rental. We took evening walks on the bridge and spent our days cruising around the Keys. We loved the sandbar and Sombrero Reef (go early!). We thought we'd want multiple day trips to Key West but found we were so happy in Marathon that a half day was plenty. Definitely go to Irie Island Eats (so good) and a trip to Herbies is worth it too. We've logged a lot of time in rentals over the years but this is one of our favorites. We're already planning a trip back next year. Thank you!
