The apartment was mostly ok (if a bit drab). However, the cleaning staff had neglected to check the balcony and apparently, the previous renters had left an impressive amount of trash there (and not a little trash, mind you, but multiple bags of trash, each broken, overflowing, and covering the entire balcony floor). Although things like this sometimes happen, the sight was disturbing enough that I decided to check out early.
Although everyone I spoke to on the phone was polite and professional, at the end of the day, you are dealing with a property management company. They were unwilling to compensate me for the remaining days that I did not use.
So, 2 stars for maintenance, 1 star for flexibility. At least, VRBO customer service was much easier to communicate with compared to the property management company, so they get an extra star.
Dealing with VRBO customer service was very easy, however.
