Modern Mountain Chalet Backing the National Forest/ Pet Friendly

Relax with the whole family in our charming cabin in Munds Park! The cabin sits on a large treed lot backing the National Forest, beautiful ponderosa pines and in the fall, colorful oak trees. Enjoy the cool fresh morning air and crisp nights.

The cabin is just 2 hours from Phoenix, 20 minutes to Flag, 2 hours to Antelope Canyon/Page, 45 minutes to Sedona, 30 minutes to Snowbowl and an hour and half to the Grand Canyon. All of which makes the perfect home base to enjoy lots of exploring and adventuring!

The is a modern A-frame cabin where guests have access to the entire place. From large chalet windows and doors to hardwood floors throughout. The cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bathroom is on the main floor. The cabin sleeps 6

Guest room 1 has a king bed, a Smart TV access and is on the main floor.
Guest room 2 has 2 queen bed and is on the main floor.
Guest room 3 is in the Upstairs and has a King Bed and its own Bathroom

The loft is a shared space that is upstairs, with guest room 3 but also has a large sectional for sleeping and entertaining. This is the perfect area to watch a movie or play a game.

The cozy kitchen is fully stocked and is ready for you, including a hot coco bar!

Outside offers Munds Park front porch sitting and outback has a beautiful deck with a table and Propane grill to make a perfect meal! We also have a fire pit to grill up some delicious smores or lounge in the hammock in the trees.

This is one of the few cabins that has a wood burning fireplace.

Quiet hours in the park are from 10 pm to 8 am. We do have full time neighbors so we do ask that our guests respect the quiet hours.

No events or parties are allowed at the cabin.

No smoking of any substances inside the cabin.

No burning of incense or candles at anytime.

The cabin is about 15 minutes from the nearest grocery store in Flagstaff. Instacart delivers to Munds Park if you would like to have your groceries delivered after you check in. You will want to plan accordingly however, the local gas station does have a mini-mart with a large supply of necessities.

The perfect stay

We had a blast at this perfect cabin in the cutest neighborhood. The house was endless fun for our children and they loved the patio and making s’mores in the backyard. 10/10 will be returning! 😊

Great location for a great price

Stay was awesome! The layout and space was great for us with the 3 bedroom and the bunk beds. It backs to the forest so it’s even quieter than most in Munds Park. Property manager reached out to see if we needed anything which was nice. Price point was great, good value. The ONLY issues we had was not a lot of cooking pots/pans/cutting board/etc, the cabinets and kitchen really need a deep cleaning. It wasn’t dirty, but you can see where it doesn’t get cleaned. Also, the front/rear decks are a little old and some nail heads are sticking up so be careful especially barefoot. House is currently listed for Sale so I’m not sure how that affects these things. I would definitely rent it again though.

Great place to stay

This home has a huge deck in front and was great to watch the light parade from. I would definitely recommend staying here. Bring your own body soap. We didn't expect not to have soap, so we had to purchase some at the Shell station. Otherwise everything else was great!

Not what we expected

First impression is the sooty smell from the fire place when you come in the front door. Kitchen is very unorganized and missing a lot of things. Hair in drawers... Ugh... Kitchen as well as porches and yard need a deep cleanlng badly. Lots of unemptied trash bins and several ancient wet bags of unusable charcoal in the backyard. Lack of ceiling fans in bedrooms make it hard to sleep, no air movement. Closets are messy and unkempt. The BBQ grill was very DIRTY and completely unusable. No wire brush. The owner was nice enough to bring us some new pots because the old ones were beyond cleaning. The US flag in front is in dire need of replacement. The front deck has many nails protruding which create a dangerous trip hazard. As mentioned in previous reviews, it is in need of painting along with the stairs. The living room couch is extremely filthy and we were happy we brought a couple of blankets to cover it. Beds were reasonably comfortable. WIFI worked fine. Overall a lot of TLC is needed just about everywhere. Bottom line: there are much better choices in Munds Park.

Munds Park

We had a great time and Munds Park is such a nice town, we would stay here again for sure. The house was stocked well and feels very safe. The beds were comfortable and have plenty of space. All the appliances worked great including the washer and dryer. There are just a couple of things we noticed that could be better. The bathrooms and kitchen need a good deep cleaning. It has older kitchen cabinets which isn’t a big deal just needs the inside of drawers and front of cabinets scrubbed good. The shower door upstairs doesn’t close correctly but still totally useable. I still give it a high rating for cleanliness just needs a little attention to corners and behind/under things deep cleaned. It’s close enough to all hiking trails and surrounding towns. It’s a little bit from Sedona but that was not a problem for us because it’s so peaceful. It was so nice sitting outside on the decks and the backyard has a great fire pit with lots of chairs. The mornings are so quiet with lots of people out walking their dogs. We didn’t have a side by side but looked like a great location for that. I highly recommend it and had a great time.

Great Find!

The house was so cozy and comfortable! We really enjoyed our stay. They had all of the necessary pots, pans and utensils in the kitchen that we needed. Beds were super comfy. The neighborhood is so blissfully quiet and charming. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of Sedona and Flagstaff, yet close enough to get to wherever you want to go. Would absolutely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great little getaway!

Great home for a quick getaway. The area is very quiet and was extremely cozy. Lots of long trails to explore less than a mile from the location which was nice. Flagstaff was a quick 30 min drive from the location which is what we were aiming for so that we could hike and come back to rest without being bottle up in the city. The beds are all very comfortable and bathrooms were very well stocked. Nice towels too, lol. Rest assured there ARE in fact some spatulas in the kitchen and everything else you would need for cooking day to day barring major baking necessities. This was a great place to stay and I’d definitely come back! Thanks for the awesome staycation!

A great value for a large family

Easy check in. 6 beds. Large property. Nice neighbors. Quiet street. Lovely large windows. No laundry list of checkout cleaning steps as with other vacation rentals. Recommend buying toilet paper and paper towels online and having delivered if you’ve got a decent size crowd. Extra silverware could be a good long term investment. Kids were comfy. No material issues worth mentioning. Again, this was an awesome value!

5 Stars All The Way!!!!

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home! I brought my daughter and two year old sweet granddaughter for a few nights up in the pines and we had such a super fun time! We loved the front rooftop deck and enjoyed sitting out there on your picnic table having our morning coffee. And we loved the back decks and your beautiful, peaceful backyard and fire pit! Your home is truly stunning! Gorgeous kitchen with farmhouse sink, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils and more, 3 big bedrooms and the 2 sets of bunk beds have queen mattresses - so awesome! The loft has a huge bedroom and tv room overlooking downstairs, super cute bathroom too and it goes right out onto a huge upper deck. It’s such a beautiful cozy cottage and your decorating is so so cute! Beautiful, peaceful neighborhood too! Great parks and Flagstaff Arboretum and lake close by. Everything you could want and more! We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Great location, spacious home, comfortable beds! Loved the outdoor space and campfire every night. Very relaxing visit to the mountains. RZR rides were fun and very muddy!

Relaxing Getaway

We loved our relaxing stay at this property. There was lots of room inside and out. It was a bonus to have the large back outside area with the fire pit and string lights. Sitting by the fire and playing music was fantastic. It was also lovely having the property back up to the national forest instead of other houses. The kitchen was not stocked. We did find all the cooking elements we needed, but it was bare minimum. I would stay here again if I were coming to visit my son again.

Little things

The property itself was decent enough. The appliances were modern and they all worked (I've had that not always be the case) so kudos there. The wi-fi was great, the mattresses were comfortable, the bathrooms were stocked with soaps, towels, and toilet paper. Overall it was a good place to make our home base for 3 days. That said, there were a number of little things that collectively added up to a slightly lower rating and maybe for many they wouldn't matter but for us, it just felt like it brought it down a peg. 1. There were no rubber spatulas. These are kind of nice to have. 2. There was a bottle of lighter fluid but no lighter fluid in it for the charcoal grill. I managed fine without but it took longer. 3. All but 6 of the bulbs on the outdoor lights on the front were burnt out. 4. There was a distinct lack of switchable light fixtures. The switches would connect to a wall jack probably but no light on that jack. Most lights had to be turned on manually which was not always convenient. 5. The hammock on the front porch was completely unusable. 6. Flags (US and AZ) on the garage both were in need of replacing. 7. The deck was in need of painting. The paint was peeling significantly in some areas. 8. The steps were a bit... interesting. Each step was a different height. Seriously the place was good. Those eight points only dropped the rating by a point, and I would absolutely say it was worth what we paid.

Munds Park Getaway

Our family has stayed at eight VRBO and other home away vacation properties over the years in California and Arizona. Everyone ranked this property as their favorite stay. The home was more spacious than expected with an amazing retreat in the back adjacent to state land. The property was immaculate. The property manager was responsive, accommodating, and informative. Nice place in the pines

This was a great A frame cabin. Cozy and clean..in a great neighborhood. I would definitely come back here. The forest was just behind the house. We had a campfire in the back yard. There was a nice patio and rear terrace.

Perfect cabin vacation!

We LOVED our stay at this cabin! It has everything you need minus groceries, and they layout is perfect, with an expansive deck (needs paint but structurally sound) in front and back, and the back yard leads to the woods. GREAT STAY!

Cozy cabin

Super cozy comfortable space. Close enough to Sedona to enjoy all of the great hikes and amazing views without having to stay in tourist “hell”. If you are looking for something of the beaten path this place is great
