Located near to all the great things in Munich, but neighborhood feels a little “off” from the rest of Munich. It’s a boarding house and the entrance is adjacent to what seems to be a hookah bar, so there is an odd smell to everything. The apartment was good for 3 large beds.However, the apartment was not clean: empty water bottles and coffee cups in several areas. Dark hairs left in the sinks and tub. Shower curtain is moldy and stained and didn’t look washed after prior guests. Upon arrival late at night, host met us to us in which was nice, but then wanted just me (a woman) to follow him downstairs to copy my passport, when I had completed the required online check in details earlier (I refused). The door to the balcony was broken on arrival and does not close at all. Overall it was the sketchiest VRBO I’ve ever stayed in. It has promise but needs more prep between guests and prior to check in to be acceptable. The host was responsive when notified of the issues, but we were not in the apartment during the day to let someone in to work, and were not comfortable allowing entrance while we were out. However, it is a very close, affordable launching place to explore old town Munich and Lime scooter around to all the area attractions. Other than the issues noted it has potential.

Property needs some more preparation and cleaning to be up to VRBO norms. There were hairs in showers and sinks, used disposable water bottles in multiple places, used disposable coffee cups on the balcony, shower curtain is moldy, dirty and didn’t cover the shower, and worst of all, the outside balcony door was not installed in a way that was able to be locked or solidly closed. WiFi password was missing from the property (torn off of the sheet) and the AC remotes were not in the apartment-so there was no AC. Despite checking in online in advance with my passport number, the host tried to make me (female) follow him, without my family, to an unknown location upon arrival at 11 pm to make a copy of my passport - I refused. Host tried to require rebook through a non-VRBO site. You walk through the garage area on the way in, and are located above a hookah bar. This is part of a boarding house, which was not apparent from the description. For the price I think there have to be better places to stay in Munich. Upside: beds for 5 (which are hard to find), nothing bad happened to us during our stay, host was communicative and offered to fix the door but we weren’t able to be around during daytime hours, and location is within easy walking or biking/scooter distance to most Munich highlights - very close to old town. With a little work to clean well prior to guest arrival and fix the outside balcony door, the place could be a good value for a traveling family.
