Unique 2 Bed 1 Bath (Dog Friendly) Apartment in Broadway Neighborhood

Unique with a retro vibe, this third floor unit boasts an open kitchen and living space.

This is a dog friendly, third floor, two bedroom unit and comes equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, dining table which can seat six, a large living room with skylights and a pullout sofa bed. One bedroom has two twin beds, the other a queen bed. The full size bathroom is equipped with a washer and dryer.

Located on the third floor, there is access to a shared charming brick patio.

While we want our guests to enjoy their privacy, we are also readily available for anything you might need, from extra towels to dinner recommendations. Just send us a message or give us a call.

Located in the more locally populated Broadway neighborhood, this pet friendly building is just a seven minute walk to Newport’s waterfront, although the neighborhood itself is home to many restaurants and coffee shops.


Windward Suites properties are all keyless, and instead use keypad smart locks for all of the doors for both the buildings and units. All guests will receive an email the morning of their arrival with the instructions, codes to the doors and Wifi. Super easy!

Check-in time is anytime after 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Please be respectful of these times unless you have contacted us, as we have a cleaning crew who need the time to do a thorough job before and after all of our guests.

Parking is on street parking. There are no meters and no residential parking sticker requirements which makes it easy to find spots.



Ultra-walkable downtown Newport RI—no car needed! Broadway hotspots, restaurants, shops, wharfs, and attractions are 2-5 minutes on foot. Street parking (parking lot is possible on request). Uber/Lyft/taxis everywhere; bike rentals close for easy rides. RIPTA buses nearby for bigger outings; trolley tours for chill exploring. Nearest Amtrak in Kingston, RI (~20 min drive); T.F. Green Airport (PVD) ~30-40 min. You're primed for beaches, mansions, events—total freedom to enjoy!

Dr. Marcus is a three unit building consisting of two bedroom apartment style units, with one unit located per floor. Recently “freshened up,” each space is bright and clean with open concept floor plans; each comes equipped with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, newly installed mini splits and access to a shared outdoor brick patio space.

The location of the house is situated across a street where you see junkies and drug addicts hang around. We were chased down to the door at 9 pm night after dinner by one. The apartment door does not have a chain lock or peephole, so if you get a knock on the door at night, you would not know who it is until you open it. The constant presence of police cars driving around is both assuring yet concerning (you can be your own judge). I emailed the host about these concerns, did not get a reply. Internally, the House was in good condition, aside from a few nuances, i.e. bathroom sink leaking, dryer handle broken, can’t use dryer, no chain door lock or peephole for security (details above), location was walkable (15 mins) to the wharf. The house has only street parking, no dedicated parking space.

perfect for a weekend getaway

this was perfect for our girls weekend, there were 4 of us and we were comfortable and able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from this house. we really enjoyed our stay here. the place was clean and tidy, well furnished, and everything was comfy. great location close to things but not too noisy.

Four day Stay in Newport

My fiancĂ© and I had an amazing time in Newport with our dog. We stayed at this property and it was the perfect place for us. It is a great location about 12 minute walk to Bowen’s Wharf where there are a bunch of shops and restaurants. It is also only about a ten minute drive to the beach. The apartment was very clean and bright. The check in process was seamless and communication with the property owners was easy as well. Everything about the apartment was as displayed online. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a lovely vacation spot in Newport with a great location!

Nice little spot

We liked the location, and it was easy to find parking close by. Within walking distance to just about every where we wanted to go except beaches. The stairs are steep and could be tough for older people or someone with a disability. And the low ceilings are tough for taller people. It’s a little worn and the furniture wasn’t very comfortable.

The property is very clean. Comfortable beds. The only problem is a lack of hot water. It was not possible to shower. Ran the water for a long time. It became warm, then immediately turned ice cold. Never got warm enough to shower.

Hot water and heat issues

We had a group of 5 and stayed the weekend. We had issues with the heat not working which was fixed quickly but then the hot water only lasted for 2-3 people to shower before it went ice cold. The property manager was very responsive and fixed the issue both days but if a booking says it can hold 5 people then there should be enough hot water for everyone to shower. Futon in living room was like sleeping on the floor. Suggest to the owner to get a better futon

Our unit had no hot water. Nor did we have any way to contact the owners for help. I didn’t pay that much to go 3 days without a shower! The unit is okay but be careful of the low ceilings. Firm mattresses. Close to restaurants.

amazing apartment, perfect location

Apartment was beautifully decorated, super spacious and comfortable. Excellent proximity to the wharf, walking distance to restaurants. Host made check in super easy and all the instructions that we needed for our stay were given before check in. Loved staying there and will definitely stay again.

Awesome stay

First time to Newport. The property was located conveniently downtown, east walking distance to coffee (around the corner), restaurants and shops. Property was easy to access, check in/out instructions were easy. Property was 5 star clean and well appointed. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect Spot

The property was exactly as listed. It was super clean and had every amenity we could need, including plentiful linens, washer/dryer with detergent, coffee, great wood, etc. I stayed with my wife, 2y/o daughter, and parents and there was plenty of room for everyone. Check in was a breeze and we’d totally recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay in Newport. The only super tiny thing missing was a mirror on the bedroom with the single bed, but if that’s the only complaint, I think the place is pretty damn good lol

A comfortable flat

Nice, compfy, and clean. Ample space for four individuals. Parking was not an issue. I was able to park my car in front of the building (plenty of parking space around as well) and not worry about driving since restaurants and port were within walking distance.

Cold weekend in Newport

It was super cold so we had to stay in the apartment a lot of the weekend. We loved the apartment and it was perfect for us. But the problem was that there was no hot water so we were not able to shower the entire weekend. Not sure if the cold weather had to do w it but that was a huge pain. I did contact the owner and he checked on the water heater but it didn’t fix the problem while we were there.

Perfect Newport Location

Recently spent a weekend in Newport with my two adult daughters. The apartment was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and well appointed. Matthew, the owner, responded quickly to any questions we had. The location is perfect. We parked our car on arrival and never needed to use the car until it was time to leave. You can easily walk to shops, restaurants and the Cliff Walk. Do not hesitate to book a stay at this apartment. You will not be disappointed!!!!

They did the right thing...

When we arrived on Friday afternoon, we found the third floor unit to be cute and clean. BUT, the toilet didn't flush and the shower was just a trickle. I emailed VRBO that night, but the message never made it through to the owner. The next day, the unit was checked-out. A plumber was not available for Saturday so we were moved to the 1st floor apartment. It was the right thing to do and it was lovely! We would also suggest that you stock the apartment a little more thoroughly. There was only one wine glass and only 3 washcloths. There was also no dishwashing liquid and one of the lightbulbs was missing. This first floor unit was lovely. Thank you for moving us!
