In the winter there is ice fishing, X-country skiing and Lyon's Motel has easy access to the nearby snowmobile trails. Lyon's Motel, Northern Michigan's best value.

It was what it was. The people running the hotel were very nice. The room was ok. The room could use updating, but it was fine for my 2 overnight stays.

Not what I expected

first I thought this was a "lodge" not a hotel. The lights outside were so bright that it actually kept me up. The curtains needs to be heavier. I did not realize that this "hotel" was on the main street downtown either. My fault for not checking it on satellite map first. Check in and out was very easy.
