First let me say, we knew it was an Inn and therefore knew it wouldn’t be “modern”. However, we expected basic comfort. The bed is an old school, bare bones coil mattress that feels like it hasn’t been replaced since the 1980’s. Very uncomfortable. Lots of windows equals nice natural light during the day. If you like to sleep in? Not gonna happen. You have sheer curtains and thin plastic blinds, you’re up when the sun comes up. The WiFi is very spotty, the tv didn’t even seem to have a signal as most of the channels wouldn’t play. The Inn sits very close to the road so expect a decent amount of traffic noise. Easy walk to the pier and shops, nice porch with plenty of seating, Adirondack chairs in the yard and a small but nice pool area. The Inn was very clean, just not comfortable.

Friendly, clean & comfortable

This was our first time here. The staff was very friendly. It was very clean, comfortable and very homey feeling. The only down side was the fact that there are no blackout shades/curtains. This was the first weekend that they served breakfast for the season so it wasn't that great but the coffee was very good. We will go back again.

The accommodations were excellent, but as a B&B the experience was a bit disappointing. When I arrived there was no one at the front desk at 3:30 pm. A post on the desk said after hours keys were in a mailbox. Another guest suggested that I call the phone number indicated on the posting and I was directed to the mailbox for a key. I was also traveling with an elderly person and needed an accessible room with bars in the bathroom. While the building is ADA acccessible, the room did not have suitable safety bars in the tub/shower.

I’m from OOB and have walked by the inn many many times. I often thought should an opportunity arise I’d like to stay there. Unfortunately, the gentleman at the front desk ruined the experience. The inn itself is quaint, charming and unique so from that standpoint it’s worth a look. From a staff standpoint I wouldn’t stay there again.

Cute, old home in a great location. The room was very clean, however, the smell of some deodorizer or cleaner was very strong. I’d I could have changed one thing, it would be to not use that!

This place could be a gem…we are puzzled by management actions where the hardworking friendly staff person gets let go while the front desk no-help-whatsoever person remains. Also had zero heads-up that our rooms and breakfast would be in 2 different houses (“Atlantic Birch Inn” 2 doors down). Typical historic house issue: some rooms have musty smells compounded by trying to cover up with even stronger cleaning smells. Town seemed sleepy and safe, which was good considering ancient door locks. Nothing wrong with this place that can’t be fixed with a little attention. A simple batch of homemade muffins in the morning (vs. plastic-wrapped commercial) would go a long way toward underscoring the historic charm.

The first room we stayed in was adequate but on our return back for 1 overnight stay our room was dirty, smelled and the bed was horrible! The refrigerator sounded like it could take off. Finally unplugged it! For the price we payed we were very disappointed!
