Houghton Hideaway with lake access and views

Enjoy our cozy cottage with lake views from living room, kitchen, and family room. We have a fully stocked kitchen if you choose to eat in. A gas grill is available for your use. We have 2 kayaks and an assortment of life preservers to enable you to explore the water - there is a wonderful sandbar very nearby.
After day on the water or trail, or golf course, return to the cottage and enjoy the fire pit out back.
The lake access is a 4 minute walk to a warm, shallow, sandy bottom - perfect for young ones!
Relaxing and unwinding is the sole purpose!

Before requesting to book, please read all house rules. Requests to book that do not comply with house rules will be declined. We hope you understand. 3 security cameras are on exterior of property in order to record any damage or security concerns. They monitor the front and rear doors and driveway only. They are not live monitored, but video can be reviewed later if damage is discovered. Thank you!

Houghton Lake stay

The home seemed if it had never been updated and the plugs would not stay in the receptacles. The toilet was a problem from day 1 as it wouldn't accept much toilet paper and seemed as if it was always going to over flow. Therefore it had to be flushed more than once while using not to clog it or overflow.The fire-pit had a lot to desire. Also there was wood but no kindling. During our stay we found another place that was spectacular and right next to the lake. I would never waste my time or gas to go back. Sorry Jeff.

Family visit

We had a wonderful time staying in this cottage! We were visiting our grandmother and we were looking for a quiet place near her home. This place was perfect! It is a very comfortable place in a nice neighborhood. It had all of the comforts of home and we look forward to staying here again! Its a cozy cottage with nice views of the lake!

Wonderful cabin stay!

Jeff was awesome in communicating when needed. Cabin was super clean. Comfortable and quiet. We had my 4 year old and she had a blast. So many options for beach vacation. I would definitely go back for a week anytime. Beds where comfortable also thats always a plus! Thanks for letting my family enjoy.

Unfortunately the weather wasn’t accommodating to our plans. Place was very nice. WiFi excellent. Good kitchen capabilities. TV entertainment not so good and complex to navigate. Normal issues with well water use.

Wonderful Getaway in Houghton Lake!

This was a beautiful cabin located on one of the prettiest streets in Houghton Lake! The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed! Jeff was a great host and had exceptional communication ensuring we had a wonderful stay! Just a very short walk down to the water where we were able to watch a gorgeous sunset.
