This house was built in 1916 and has recently been beautifully renovated. This property was once considered one of Rockford's Mansions because of its large accommodating 3 story size. Come enter the tranquility that this property provides from its riverside views to its endless entertainment possibilities. The moment you drive through the gates and down the tree lined driveway; you know that you have been transferred to a private retreat where you can relax from the city. Situated so close to the Arboretum where many wedding events take place, this property is the ultimate choice for bridal and groom parties to come together for wedding activities. This property can house up to 15 guests for a comfortable socially distanced event and the hosting possibilities are endless from having get togethers, executive extended stays, to a romantic getaway for two; this property will not disappoint.

Consider this property for that perfect private getaway for business or for pleasure. This 3 story home has 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, 2 bedrooms on the 3rd floor, 1 full bath with Jacuzzi and separate shower in the master, 1/2 bath on the main level, jetted Jacuzzi on the main level, clear river views from the kitchen's breakfast nook, screened in porch off the master bedroom overlooking the river, with table and chairs for a quaint quiet moment. The kitchen is equipped with a double stove, dishwasher, gas range, microwave, double door refrigerator with ice maker, granite countertops, and professional grade kitchen appliances. This is such a BEAUTIFUL and unique house and property! The hosts are also so kind. We were able to do our rehearsal dinner in the backyard and got ready in the house for the morning of my wedding. There were so many pretty places for photos and it allowed us plenty of room! Would definitely stay again

This house is set up for a large group. Lots of things to do including a basement full of pinball machines, pool table, foosball table, etc. everyone said it was one of the best places to stay. Really enjoyed the view of the river. So peaceful

Perfect Stay

There are no words to describe this home and Ron's attentiveness to his guests. The interior of the home is so comfortable and cozy and no detail is spared. We were in town for a volleyball tournament and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is memory that our girls will have for a very long time. I would highly recommend staying if you get the opportunity!

Lovely home with all the amenities

This home has the charm and beauty of days gone by and all the amenities of today! Very well stocked kitchen and bathrooms and many outdoor items/activities to keep you busy in the huge yard overlooking the river. Mr. Schwartz was responsive and checked in to make sure we had all needs met. Our family reunion was a great success because of this home away from home. Thank you!

Great family get-together!

My family came together to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday & this was a wonderful home for all of us! The game room downstairs was fully utilized & the jukebox was a total hit :) We also took full advantage of the beautiful backyard playing corn hole & badminton while having a BBQ & catching up with each other. The only "downside" to the home was that there is no bedroom on the main floor. My Dad can no longer do stairs that well, so we ended up using an air mattress on the main floor which worked for him just fine. I will mention, there is a separate guest house that I didn't realize we could reserve. So, next time we will opt to include this with our rental so mom & dad can enjoy a good night sleep in their own bed. Overall, we had an amazing time & truly enjoyed our stay! Thank you to our hosts for their warm hospitality.

Wedding and 21st Birthday

Impeccable and lovely home. Good kitchen, GREAT dining room, and wonderful outdoor grounds. Game room is excellent working condition and lots of fun. fit an finish of the rooms and bathrooms was excellent. So many good places to gather en masse or have small groups for coffee or drinks. Would definitely rent again but for longer!!! View to river is majestic!!

Perfect for a weekend get away

Retreat near the river

We had an excellent stay at this property—very peaceful, lots of spaces indoors and outdoors to hang out. Sunroom, outdoor tables, patios, etc. House was really lovely with lots of charm. Owner very responsive to questions and check in and check out was very easy. Hope to visit again!

Rockford Friends Weekend

The house is roomy, clean and fun. For reference for anyone renting in the future, there is one full bath on the main floor, one full bath on the second that you need to walk through the master to access and one full bath on the 3rd floor in the hall between the two bedrooms on that floor. Can't say enough good things about Barnstormer Distillery - a must visit if you rent this home.

Gorgeous property with views for days!!!!

We absolutely loved the house and the entire property. We were in town for a wedding and it was so enjoyable to stay here and get ready. The house is gorgeous with so much attention to detail!!! Perfect Labor Day Weekend

I can’t even begin to say enough great things about this house and the host! Ron was wonderful to work with! He was so easy and helpful to communicate with! The house is absolutely stunning! Ron provides you with lots of different activities to enjoy! The game basement was so much fun! My friends and I enjoyed playing all the different games down there! The outside has plenty of places to sit and relax. Outdoor games, firewood, and a gas grill are all provided by the host. Inside the house, there are plenty of amenities supplied (like lots of towels, the bathrooms were stocked with different necessities, and there was ample kitchen items). I’ve stayed at lots of rental homes, and this one has exceeded all my expectations! I can’t recommend this house enough! We will be back for sure!

Peaceful, elegant restorative gem of a house

I am a tour manager for a country artist with a 5 piece band. We had a day off before playing at the Japanese Gardens and we decided to stay at Ron and Karen’s. This place is UNBELIEVABLE. Gorgeous master suite, grounds, river view, tiled screened in porches, terraces, etc. All communication with Ron and Karen was easy and clear. They were incredibly generous hosts and came to see our concert the next day. We even had a very nice late night hang with the neighbors who are super friendly. I hope to stay here many more times.

A Delightful Treasure

The only problem with this amazing home is deciding which beautiful room to have your morning coffee. We have stayed at VRBO all over the country...this may be the best. Then the owners decided to throw in some vintage video games, pinball machines, and an authentic Jukebox spinning old 45's....family dance party in the basement...Thank You for sharing this amazing property with us.
