Terrible, dishonest, management

Management here are completely unreasonable and dishonest. After our first night here, which was fine, I approached the hotel manager for room service and, after ignoring my request, he asked us to leave in exchange for a refund when I became upset that he wasn't listening. I have two small children and was initially alarmed that he would even suggest us to leave over a simple request for our room to be serviced, which the lodge manual in the room specifically says is done daily. Then, he brings the room service lady over and, instead of doing a quick service, she blames my husband for not asking for the room to be serviced when she came into the room earlier and handed him towels (we assumed she'd come back later when we were gone). At this point, it was clear to me that they weren't going to service the room, which is upsetting, but not the end of the world albeit inconvenient and not in line with the service agreement in their room. However, I no longer felt safe staying there as they kept insisting we did something wrong, even though we didn't. So, I took him up on the offer to leave for our money back, which he obviously agreed to as it was his idea to bring with. However, when we put the refund request in, our refund was repeatedly refused by the hotel for a different reason each time.

Amazing place and location. Kids loved it - place so clean and beds super comfy. Animals and playground a hit and gave our kids much to do during our downtime. The location was close to all activities and amenities. Highly recommended.

This is so far our favorite motel in New Zealand (out of 5 motels and 1 hotel). Perfect if you have kids. Rooms are very new, the Internet is also the fastest so far. Would love to come back and stay a few days.

Very new, well appointed, quiet, none of Rotorua sulphur odour. Bathroom especially nice, beds comfortable, small but well laid out kitchen area. Access via busy main road, egress onto it requires patience.

We stayed in the newer units to be southern end of the complex. Room was mostly clean, but previous guests have damaged some soft furnishings and paintwork - not detrimental t our trip but once noticed hard not to… this accommodation s away from the traditional hotel precinct of Rotorua BUT this a a good thing if you have hired a car - and the Skulne gondola and other attractions are a relatively short walk away. We’d stay again next time we are in NZ!

Stayed in family room for 5. Older style unit. ves: Clean, comfortable and quiet overnight stay. Facilities were nice both inside and surrounding (alpacas, sheep, playground). -ves: One tiny bottle of shampoo and body wash not enough for a family. 5th person only has a bed sheet for the sofa bed so need to ask for a blanket and top sheet. No pillow available even though you pay extra for 5th person. Reception not really pro-active or helpful. Ideal for young families (2 kids) or groups of 4 or less.

What a great place! Loved petting the farm animals on the property with Alpacas and Sheep. They have an onsite laundry and a fully equipped kitchen as well.
