We were shocked upon our arrival at this rental and the horrible state of disrepair this house was in. In no particular order we found a collapsed railing on the spa tub, a cracked door on the microwave oven (making it unusable because of a legitimate concern of radiation that might be leaking through the crack), a right front burner that wouldnât shut off even if the knob was in the off position (had to turn it on an off at the breaker box), an open bag of dog food in the garage with rodent feces nearby, a brown stain on the mattress cover, a dead squirrel in the front yard that was there before our arrival, filthy kitchen cabinet shelves, swarming bugs in one kitchen cabinet, a next door neighbor with a permanent pile of junk in their yard, a screened in patio that look like it hadnât been cleaned in months and that also had a leaking roof, a bedroom wall that looks like a water leak has formed bubbles in the plaster, and thatâs just for starters. At one point the AC didnât work. The HVAC tech that came to do the repair showed me an air filter that was just a dirty as the house was. It was not a âbeautiful and relaxing homeâŠnext to Siesta Keyâ but an unsafe, unhealthy, and filthy wreck of a place 5 miles away from the beach. Donât be fooled like we were by their pictures or the description on the listing and find your family a better place to stay than here.
