Great neighborhood beautiful house

This is a beautiful house, set up as a duplex with upstairs and downstairs kitchen and laundry machines. Very spacious for our extended family and grandkids. The location near Forsythe Park is great. We loved it!

Be Aware

The house is in poor shape, including a backyard overgrown and unusable, an upstairs sink that can only provide hot water, beds that are uncomfortable, a small porch with uncomfortable chairs. Some of the bedrooms lack windows or privacy or are tiny rooms. Some of the room fans do not work. There are no written instructions about how to use or find anything in the house.

This is listed as a 4 BR, which is not really accurate. 2 1/2 BR at best. The back yard space is not really usable due to the overgrown plants and weeds. Minimal linens, as there weren’t enough towels for everyone. We had to purchase toilet paper..they only provide a ‘starter set’. The house was clean, but there were some areas that could use repair. There wasn’t cold water in the upstairs kitchen area faucet and the air conditioning did not stay on, which caused the unit to be overly warm.

Upon arrival, everything initially seemed fine. Unfortunately, during our stay, our dog broke a window. We were completely unaware this happened at the time, instead of receiving a phone call, we were only notified by email. Additionally, the window was never boarded up or repaired during the remainder of our stay.What was most disappointing was receiving a “terrible” guest review afterward, despite maintaining an excellent 5.0 rating on VRBO. We take responsibility for the damage caused by our dog, but the handling of the situation was concerning especially from a company that advertises itself as pet-friendly. If a neighbor contacted management about the issue, it would have been appreciated if they had contacted us directly right away. Because we felt bad about the window incident, we chose not to complain during the stay, but there were several maintenance and cleanliness issues: Two large roaches appeared the first night, Mouse droppings were found on the bathroom sink the following night, The TV could not connect to the internet, so it was unusable, The living room ceiling fan did not appear to work, The bedroom ceiling fan only worked when the lights were on, The balcony had two broken/missing spindles, The kitchen sink only had hot water.We normally do not complain about minor issues and tried to be understanding throughout the stay. communication regarding the window incident, and the condition of the property, left us disappointed with this rental company.
