You will be rushing to get "home" from the park so that you can take a deep breath, relax and just embrace the ambiance of this spacious, well-maintained retreat of a home perched on a knoll close to the heart of Three Rivers. It was built with one thing in mind and that was to capitalize on the beauty of the High Sierra mountain range. Window after window is filled to capacity with both the native foliage of the surrounding foothills and the majesty of the high country peaks. The pool is just steps from the house and offers a view of the mountains that is unsurpassed.
You will feel right at home the moment you enter this comfortable, family-friendly home. Enter into a lounge that looks out expansive windows with views of Sequoia National Park. You choose.. kick back, read a book, surf the internet, play some games, or just gaze at the view. Just inside, you will find a cozy living room that includes a stone fireplace with firewood provided seasonally, a flat-screen TV with Firestick streaming services and tons of DVDs, and comfy furniture to melt into. The dining area is nearby with seating for 8 people. Pass through that into the sunny, window-encased kitchen overlooking the pool area. It is idyllically situated to entertain, cook and supervise the little ones playing in the pool. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a full-size oven, a dishwasher, a massive French-door refrigerator, a coffee maker, cookware, serving ware, dinnerware and flatware. All you have to bring is your food! Not the coffee, though, because we provide fresh coffee beans and Keurig pods for you along with commonly used spices.
Ground level you will find a bedroom for the kids complete with two twin sized beds. On the opposite side of the living area is a bedroom with a new queen pillow-top mattress. This bedroom faces the mountains. Also on this floor is a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Upstairs you will find the Grand Primary bedroom & bath. This is a huge room with a vaulted knotty pine ceiling, a California King bed and a Queen bed. The bedroom is surrounded by two huge decks, one facing Case Mountain and the other spouting unobstructed mountain views. There is a separate thermostat so that the upstairs guests can adjust the temperature to their liking. All bedrooms have window coverings.
Johnâs Place is perfect for groups of 4 to 8 people. You are only about 3 miles from Sequoia Nat'l Park and a couple of minutes from the quaint town of Three Rivers. If you need to stay connected electronically, fast, dependable WiFi is available at the house for you to use during your stay. For your convenience, we provide an EV charger to our guests. This home is truly a family-oriented recreational destination in itself!
Outside you will find a large unheated pool, perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. Lounge chairs offer an opportunity to relax and enjoy the views and abundant wildlife. There is a propane grill and a plethora of outdoor seating whether you would like to dine outside or just chill by the pool on a lounge chair. Our naturalistic gardens are a work-in-progress, focused on California native and Mediterranean-climate plants to attract birds and other wildlife.
We have recently begun offering this incredible home as a rental after being off the market for several years. It was supremely popular, with over 100 great reviews that, unfortunately, could not be carried over to the new homeowner, who has made many wonderful improvements. It is still being managed by Robin who consistently provides outstanding personal service. We would be honored if you choose John's Place for your visit to our neck of the woods.
**As of January 2024, we have a Ring camera at the main entrance to the home. It is strictly to protect the property during non-occupancy. Once you arrive, it will be disarmed until you depart.**
We loved this home! Robin was a welcoming host and very communicative. The home had everything you would need and even more extras that you probably forgot at home. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer.
The location was perfect, close to Three Rivers restaurants and it was less than a 10 minute drive to the entrance of Sequoia National Park. There was some great bird watching and beautiful views from the backyard and deck spaces. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed. It was spacious and enjoyable for our group of 6 people ranging from 8-75 years old!
We had a wonderful stay at Johnâs place. It was close to Sequoia which we did for two days and in the evenings we played cards and watched movies. The kitchen was well stocked for our group of 8 and even had coffee and a few spices in the cabinet. The only thing we would have changed would have been to have a hot tub since it was too cold to swim but other than that it was perfect! Thanks Robin for being a great host!
Everything about our stay was five-star. Honestly, this was the best VRBO property weâve ever stayed at. The facilities were great, but all the little extras were there as well. Truly, above and beyond. NO negatives. None. Zero.
A beautiful home! Very spacious and photos do not do it justice. A large fully equipped kitchen with tons of dishes, silverware and cook wear. Everything you would need to prepare your own meals. All the beds were very comfortable! The home had beautiful details and we admired the artwork on the wallsâ very tasteful. The location was perfect to visit Sequoia Park-just four miles from the entrance gate. A very quiet neighborhood with a beautiful view from every room. And finally, the pool! It was quite warm when we were there and every afternoon was spent lounging poolside. It became the highlight of our afternoons and evenings. Canât recommend this property highly enough if youâre looking for a place to stay near Sequoia National Park.
John's Place couldn't have been better for our last-minute trip to Sequoia Nat'l Park. We stayed two nights. Robin was a great host. We enjoyed the privacy and serene neighborhood --- which is located very close to the park entrance. We came here with our two teenagers and our experience was outstanding. We had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the AC after long hot hikes. We hope we can return to see the Sequoias and stay here again.
Loved the location. The views of the mountains and the stars were amazing. Everything was great. Nice to have small things like extra bags for snacks on the mountain to toothpaste if you forgot it. Plenty of cookware and laundry too. Highly recommend!
Johnâs Place was a comfortable and well stocked home just outside the southern entrance to Sequoia NP. It was a perfect place to return to each evening after a day spent in the parks. We especially loved the pool and how great the communication was with Robin.
The check in process was smooth and Robin checked on us to make sure everything was set. We loved the location and the pool. The kitchen was huge and stocked with everything you could want. It was easy to find things. Robin was very accommodating and responded quickly to any requests we had. Thank you for a great stay.
House was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Robin was very nice. We spent hours in the pool after hiking Sequoia in the mornings. The views from the house and yard were amazing.
