This is a great little gem in Traverse City! It's not a super-fancy, luxury resort, but it is spotless, and the rooms are spotless and adorable.

The Sierra is such a groovy little motel. The decor is retro and so cool - great colors and vibe! Our room was spotless and had every convenience we needed - including a mini frig. The location is awesome - we walked everywhere. The owners were so kind and had our room ready in a jiffy. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

The only place I stay in Traverse City.

Heading back for my third time. We love it and all of its charm. The owners are so sweet and thoughtful and it’s dog friendly. I love the location too, just at the entrance of the mission peninsula.

Motel Sierra is pure joy! Every corner bursts with 1950s charm—bright blues, turquoise, and sunny yellow details, all brand new yet true to the era. You can feel the love for the 1950s culture in every detail. The rooms are small but impeccably clean, with bedding and mattresses exactly as you’d expect for this category. They’ve just added new bikes, and we were lucky enough to be the very first guests to try them! Riding the amazing yellow bike drew compliments from kids and adults alike. While the bikes are free, leaving $20 shows appreciation and helps support the community spirit that makes this place special.

Sierra in Traverse

We loved staying at this well-decorated clean, comfortable “motel.” We’re not big fans of the super same hotels chains. So this was refreshing. Great personal touches, individual attention and family owned and operated. Definitely recommend staying here.

Stayed in Traverse City for two nights. Took my E bike with me to ride sleeping bear amd lelanau trails. This is in a good location close to the downtown dining and bar district. I was able to ride to that area in 5 to 10 minutes. Very clean. Owners stay on site and are very friendly. Not your typical motel. Very clean and comfortable. Definitely would stay here again.

Very nice little motel. The style is fun and the rooms are very clean and nice. The remodel money was spent in all the right places. The beds are comfy. I would stay here again!
