8 Guest Historic North End Tybee Beach Home Near Lighthouse
Experience a historic piece of Tybee when you stay at the Quarters at the Commissary Unit 3. What once served as the army`s convenience store in the 1900s, has been restored to accommodate travelers to the island in the form of 3 separate vacation rentals. Awarded for its pristine historic preservation and thoughtful restoration, the Quarters at the Commissary each provide a fully stocked kitchen, spacious living and dining areas, and were created the experience of gathering together in mind.
The Commissary Quarters can be rented separately (Unit 3 sleeps 8 guests) or see our Commissary Estate Listing (sleeps 33 guests) to book the entire estate.The award winning Quarters at the Commissary #3 has been designed to retain many of the historic qualities that enabled it to function as a storehouse for goods. Featuring 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, a fully stocked kitchen, dining table, and kitchen island for additional seating, the main floor is the ideal family vacation set up for entertaining and enjoying each other`s company.
A unique element in the first floor space is an antique elevator that was used to transport items from the cellar to the two upper floors of the Commissary.
The Living area has plenty of seating, a High definition TV, Blu ray player, subwoofer, Firestick and sound bar. The 10 seat dining table is centrally located within the room. Adjacent to the dining table is the large renovated kitchen with island seating for 4 and all upgraded appliances and conveniences. This is a perfect area for preparing meals. Directly off of the dining area is a deck that overlooks the backyard. The gas grill is located at the base of the deck staircase. There is a half bath conveniently located off of the Living area.
On the main level is Bedroom 1. This spacious King bed suite has a high definition TV, Blu ray player, Firestick and attached full bathroom.
A staircase leads from the main living level to the comfortable 2nd floor. At the top of the staircase is an additional Living room area. As you walk down the hallway you pass a window with a view of the original mechanical system of the elevator, possibly the oldest elevator in Chatham County.
Bedroom 2 is a Queen bedroom suite with a window seat and an attached full bathroom.
Bedroom 3 is at the end of the hallway with a Queen bed and two Twin beds. This large suite has an attached full bathroom, high definition TV, Firestick and a Blu-ray player.
The outdoor area of the Quarters at the Commissary is just as unique and well kept as each of the separate Quarters. The grounds are maintained year-round and are home to several fruit trees.
Each of the Quarters has its own separate furnished decks, gas grill, and parking spaces.
On the grounds, you will find several bike racks for storing your bike while on Vacation.
