Dream your most desired vacation. Then come to magical Maui, one of the world’s most elite vacation destinations. How better to experience our island than by renting from an owner who has combined her own personal getaway with the conveniences of home and the leisurely delights of a vacation in the sun. Renting from the owner allows you to enjoy private home amenities while avoiding the congestion of resorts and hotels.

My home is located on lovely Ma’alaea Bay, wintertime sanctuary to many humpback whales and their calves. A favorite pastime of residents is reclining on a lounger watching the antics of our oceanic friends.

Just to the west of us is Ma’alaea Marina, home to many yachts and touring boats and the Ma’alaea Village shops. Off to the east is the long sandy span of Sugar Beach, perfect for early morning beach walking. Several good eateries are located within walking distance including one of Maui’s top award winning seafood restaurants, The Waterfront.


The Waterfront is one of Maui’s top award-winning seafood restaurants. The renowned Maui Ocean Center aquarium is only steps away. All in all, this central location is within easy reach of the sights and attractions of Maui.

My condo at the Ma’alaea Kai is an oceanfront walkout. Newly renovated, it embraces the ambiance of the islands with the luxury and comfort of a perfect vacation getaway. Both pool and grilling area are only steps from the lanai against the backdrop of the ocean views and the sounds of the waves and the breezes in the palm trees.

I would love to share my getaway with you. It gives me great pleasure to have others experience the exquisite gem that is Maui. Its setting, its rain forests, mountains, beaches, upcountry adventures, and the underwater world to explore, make Maui truly magical.

Perfect!!!

This rental is one of the most organized and well equipped I’ve ever seen. You have everything you need for your beach vacation . The location is perfect to go anywhere around the island. Walk-in distance to a nice beach. You can have your morning coffee watching whales in front of the condo. Super clean and quiet. Would definitely recommend.

Barbara’s place was absolutely amazing! It was a great location if you want the quieter side of Maui (which we did!) with gorgeous views right from the patio. The condo came with all the typical amenities, but also came with those extra touches (beach towels, mineral sunscreen, cooler) that made it just perfect. The AC kept the bedroom cool for sleeping, and the breeze through the front and back doors kept the condo cool in the morning and evenings. LOVED this place so much and would stay again for sure!

"Over the top"

Lovely Lovely appointed condo. Welcoming, comfortable and amazingly well supplied.Communication with owner was always prompt, warm, and efficient. Amazing!!

Wow!! Barbara’s condo well exceeded my expectations! This condo is the perfect location to get around Maui and is literally a quick walk to Maui Ocean Center (aquarium) and the harbor. We honestly never wanted to leave the condo though! Being on the ground level was perfect. You watch whales playing in the bay right from the patio! And the pool and grills were just off the patio too making it really easy to jump in or start dinner. Any questions we had Barbara was quick to respond. Excellent! We are already dreaming of coming back. Thank you so much for sharing your paradise!

Whales in the bay were a plus

The condo is beautifully decorated and a very comfortable and livable space. It looks just like the photos posted here. There is ample storage to keep things put away. I appreciated having a laundry basket to stow dirty clothes. We ate many meals at the condo so we could take advantage of watching the whales in the bay, to be making breakfast and looking up to see a whale breach is amazing. The kitchen has everything you need to make a meal or warm up takeout. The location is quiet and safe, away from the traffic area. We enjoyed the short drive to the Cafe O Lei at the Mill House for delicious meals. Communication with Barbara was great, she answered emails quickly.

A perfect stay

This property is accurately described and photographed. It is incredibly well equipped, the position of it is fantastic and location central for everywhere on the island, yet it is quiet. We ate in a lot as the kitchen has everything you need and the views from the patio are fantastic, you can actually see the whales whilst eating. Totally relaxing.

Beautiful location!

My wife and I loved the condo. Quiet neighborhood, ocean front and well maintained. Sea Turtles and whales in abundance in the bay. Short drive to Kihei for restaurants but so glad we stayed at Barbara’s condo instead. Great host. One bedroom with pullout in family room. Porch seating was amazing morning and night. Be sure to eat in and watch the boats and whales. Say hi to the friendly grey cat
we named it “Maui”.

Wonderful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in November. Everything was perfect. The condo was exactly as described. The winds off thep water were so nice we didn't even need the airconitioning, and it was 83 degrees most days. Communication with the owner was seamless. We walked to small shops and to a snorkling adventure. We met some very nice neighbors who made us feel right at home. We went on a rappeling trip and a hike thru the bamboo forest to swim in waterfalls. We went golfing. Everything we did was within 15 mins of this wonderful condo. Our bucket list is complete thanks to being able to stay at this awesome condo!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. Our first night we met really nice neighbors who gave us a list of must sees. We booked a snorkel trip prior to our stay and it was within walking distance. We also walked to the aquarium, market and food trucks. The location is fantastic! We had a great time!!

Central location, comfortable condo.

When we arrived, we were impressed by the condo being so comfortable and well thought out. Super well organized and well kept. Breakfast on the lanai is spectacular and memorable, as Ma’alaea Bay and Haleakala are directly in front. Everything was as promised and when we return to Maui, this will be the first condo we check for availability.

Perfect Location!

Barbara’s place was a perfect location for our stay. We are a retired couple who likes to hike and explore the island. The condo was clean, beautifully decorated and the view is sublime. Our favorite thing was drinking coffee on the back lanai overlooking the bay/ocean with Haleakala looming in the distance. We also enjoyed sitting on the chaise loungers and watching the numerous turtles feeding out on the reef. Another great turtle watching area is along the sea wall at Maalaea wharf just past Buzz’s Whatf. We also enjoyed watching the geckos, lizards and birds from the lanai. Maalaea Harbor is approximately 25 minutes from the airport, Lahaina and Kihei. We enjoyed drives all around the island from this central location. The Maalaea General store has a great breakfast. We rented a full sized SUV. Head’s up, the parking spots in the condo parking lot are narrow. It was not a problem however as there was ample parking on the street. This area felt safe. There is a sea wall with rocks in front of the condo, but it is a short easy walk to a Sandy beach at the end of Houli Road. We loved our stay and if we come back to Maui we would love to stay here again. If you don’t need the glitz of a high end stay, this is your place!

Wonderful place to stay

My wife and I spent a week on vacation here, and it was a perfect set up. Communication with the owner was smooth, and the condo was very clean, well-maintained, and had all appropriate supplies on hand. Location is wonderful, first floor and right on the water, and one afternoon that I was literally watching humpback whales surface in the bay, while laying on the couch. It’s a good central location for access to the north, east and west sides of the island as well, and we had a parking space right in front of the building throughout the stay. We would love to stay here again in the future, and highly recommend to anyone considering this sort of vacation.

This ground unit is beautifully renovated and just steps from the pool and BBQ grills. Morning coffee is a must from the lanai, as you'll have a breathtaking view of the ocean and sunrise over Haleakala! I've never seen a condo as generously stocked as this one. Everything you need for a road trip, or a day at the beach. It's situated at the Ma'alaea Harbor making it so convenient to catch an early morning snorkle trip, and the central location makes it easy to maneuvere around the island. It was a phenomenal place to spend our holiday! Thank you Barbara for sharing your island home with us! We'd definitely loved being your guests again.
