How close is Walk to Restaurants Shopping & Harbor! to downtown Wellfleet?
It was a convenient location and nice enough house-though a bit drab. The living room/patio furniture was very uncomfortable, which doesn't make the home a nice place to lounge and read when the weather isn't good enough for going to the beach. Disappointing that the outdoor shower didn't work-that is a big allure for me to cape vacations. The kitchen needs to be stocked better. (i.e. there was no cutting board and not enough silverware). The 4p, check-in and 9am check-out was too extreme on both ends. It kind of robs you of a vacation day on both ends. I did appreciate the clear communication and accessibility of the property managers. I appreciated how clean the house was, the provision of linens/towels and the ease of check-out. Would not rent this specific house again, but might go through vrbo again.
Older home not clean or all that safe for younger/older family members.
Very basic little house in a fine location. Kitchen hadnât been properly cleaned in a while and had both fruit fly infestation and stunk upon arrival. We spent our first day cleaning the house so we could cook our farmerâs market finds. Stairs in home are very old and steep and not safe for older folks or little kids. House felt a bit unsafe and things broke like window openers and shower handles within minutes of our arrival. We were told by management that if the shower still could be wrestled on then broken off handles was not something they would fix. Overall, the holiday was fine and Wellfleet was lovely. But we would not stay at this house again.
We loved the location of his home! We had many wonderful walks into town center and over Uncle Timâs bridge.
Unfortunately, we found a house to be filled with spiders. We removed six or seven every day. The rental agency sent someone to do a spider treatment, which was ultimately ineffective. The neighbors have a coop of chickens outside the family room window, the smell of which is quite noticeable inside the house when it becomes warm.
The beds have extremely hard and creaking mattresses. When we arrived there were egg crates over both of the king beds. The rental agency was able to drop off extra mattress toppers about halfway through the week. It helped somewhat.
Of note, the staircase is extremely steep and is a hazard for children. Also, the neighbors let out their chickens for exercise in our front lawn, but they become angry when kids look at the chickens while they are in the coop in the driveway. They feel it makes their dog bark. For a family vacation with children, this becomes an added challenge.
