Nantwich-Whitchurch railway, near Wrenbury. Photo taken from Pinsley Green Road bridge next to Smeatonwood Farm, looking south-west towards Whitchurch. The popularity of public transport is shown by the huge size of the local train. In the distance (2.7 km away on the ridge) is the Combermere Monument, celebrating the victories at Salamanca and Bhurtpore of Field Marshal Sir Stapleton Cotton, 1st Baron Combermere, of nearby Combermere Abbey.

Footpath (!) across wheat field, Newhall. The public footpath runs across this large wheat field at The Royals, Newhall. Waymarked gate just visible in the far corner with a waymarked stile beyond. The photo provides evidence that the path has not been reinstated across the crop - a criminal offence under the CROW Act 1990 (§137A). County council policy is to issue warnings for two years and prosecute in the third. "Three strikes and out". (Ref: CCC Public Paths: an A to Z of Problems and Protocols).
Early morning sun on the River Weaver The Weaver is little more than a stream as it passes through flat pastureland outside the village of Wrenbury. View on a frosty January morning, just west of the bridge on New Lane. A nearby view can be seen in 190703
Pasture near The Grange View across flat pasture from Pinsley Green Lane towards the village of Aston. Aston Mill is visible on the horizon (left; see 338389)
