We arrived at seven pm so excited to get into the house that had looked absolutely fabulous in pictures. Upon walking through the door, we immediately noticed dirty dishes in the sink and soot from the fireplace all over the carpet. Inspection of the rooms revealed that the master bedroomâs bed was unmade and obviously slept in, and there were dirty towels piled in the bathroom. We called the management company and waited on hold to ask what could be done. The woman I eventually talked to asked for me to send her pictures, and after reviewing them, said sheâd contact their local team and theyâd follow up with me. After an hour with no call back, I called again and a different person told me the same thing, that I had to wait and be contacted by a local team. My husbandâs family was on their way to join us, and at this point we were embarrassed by what they were going to walk into (the supposed-to-be luxurious vacation was our treat), so at the very least I decided to stash the dirty dishes in the dishwasher so theyâd be out of sight. I lifted the lid off of a dirty pan and found a huge amount of MOLD grown on the standing water. My husband then discovered thick urine stains dried onto the side of the toilet. We again called the property management and they said they couldnât get a cleaner out until the next morning. When she came, she merely made the bed (no fresh sheets), cleaned the toilet, and vacuumed. Did not touch the kitchen or remove the three full bins of trash left.
We enjoyed our stay at the Nutter Ranch over Christmas weekend. Itâs quiet and secluded with lots of nature. A great base for Yosemite visit. The property is clean with lots of space. Some furniture needs major updating and the house needs some general maintenance work. But we didnât mind any of that. There is so much more to enjoy here.
