Evening and overnight staff continue to be a considerable problem at what would otherwise be an excellent hotel. From management that doesn't have an ounce of the grace and generosity I consider paramount in any customer service (key words) industry, to desk clerks who know nothing about the workings of items in rooms, and also show no sign of grace, empathy or understanding in unfortunate situations. (In my most recent stay - there will not be another - after spending one night with loud neighbors, I asked to be moved to another room; the clerk did not even *ask* if I needed help with any of my belongings. Seriously?! I was told I'd be contacted by the GM at this location; I never was. All of this after having had customer service "coaching" from someone out of the corporate (Pennsylvania) parent company office last Fall. It's too bad, because there are desk clerks who are gregarious, friendly, and caring during the day, as well as various levels/areas of support staff who are all incredibly kind. A couple of thoughtless people (new night clerk, and the [night?] manager) truly make my head and stomach ache when I see them!
