Camp Sandy is a gated, lakefront estate and is all about the experience. Many activities, on a beautiful and very private property.....100% 5-Star reviews. The 6800 square foot home sits on 3 1/2 acres of lake frontage on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas and sleeps 28. The property has 420 feet of water frontage that is flat to the lake so you can walk right in, this is not one of those properties that is up high on a cliff with just a lake view. Bachelor/Bachelorette parties welcome.

We have a beautiful lakeside swimming pool and giant hot tub!

LAKE UPDATE:
April 1, 2024 Lake Update:
Lake Travis is currently down 51 feet, so the cove in front of the house does not have water in it. The predications are that the lake will rise during the Spring.

Desirable location, very private, close to town, has it all! Across the lake is a nature preserve. The property offers many activities and great fun:

(just 22 minutes) and only 27 miles to Austin Bergstrom International Airport, making it the most desirable part of Lake Travis.

Amazing experience
Staying here was an amazing experience. We were a couple in our 70’s with three adult children who brought their spouses and own children ranging in age from 1 1/2 years to 15. There was something for every age group to enjoy—all the kids fell into bed exhausted every night after playing hard all day. The home, while not fancy, was clean and offered enough space for each family to have space for privacy. It was also incredibly well stocked; more generously than most, not only providing more than enough towels, shampoos, and soaps but also unexpected amenities like ice chests for borrowing, stand mixer in kitchen, lots of suntan lotion, lighter fluid/wood for firepit s’mores night, etc etc. We were actually glad that there was no lakefront because there were so many young nonswimmers, but guests should be aware of possibility. The pool and hot tub were well used and appreciated. David, our host, was the most involved and helpful host we’ve ever had. He met us the first day to walk us through the property, and texted every day to check in and make sure there were no problems. He gave us breakfast burritos on the first morning, and warm cookies on our last, all devoured gratefully by our hordes. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Amazing property!
This is one of the best properties I have stayed on! We had so much to do from playing badminton to playing sand volleyball. I would recommend this property for a great family vacation. It has everything you would need!

Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful stay at the property! David was an excellent host. Communication was prompt and he was readily available for any questions. The house was very clean and well stocked. There were lots of activities on the property itself. The kids had a great time! Overall enjoyed our stay!

A 65th Birthday Celebration Full of Memories
If David could host every VRBO property, I would stay in them all. From the initial contact, until the day we left, he was amazing and helpful every step of the way. It was winter and the lake was down, but that did not stop the fun. There was no lack of entertainment on the property. It was a perfect place for all ages - my 7 siblings, their children, and a few of my nieces and nephew's children, were able come and reunite. I HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking for a space for your family or group to gather, cook, play, "chill", have some space for free moments to yourself and on top of that, be hosted by the best! Camp Sandy is all that much, much more. My family was complimentary of every aspect of the facility and of our host. LOVE Camp Sandy!

Super host, David, went above and beyond! Amazing hospitality from a personal tour upon check in to special treats during our stay! Fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms with extras! David thought of everything to make our stay comfortable! This home met all of our needs from 6 months to 92 years. The property is amazing! You could easily stay here a week without leaving. We did venture out to recommended restaurants, wineries, hiking trails and enjoyed personal chef, Mike, New Year’s Eve! Absolutely a fantastic experience! David, thank you for sharing your property with us!

Family reunion
Loved the property and the property manager. If there had been water in the lake it would have been even better. Also you will need to have bottled water to drink and cook with in this property which would have been nice to know. Everything else was perfect.

Amazing Experience
Camp Sandy is nothing short of amazing. The property owner/manager has to be the best I have ever had. They truly take pride in ensuring their guests have a wonderful experience. The property itself was everything we hoped it would be. We were there for a Bachelor party and never wanted to leave. There was just so much to do. We had an absolute blast. Camp Sandy comes well stocked with all you need for a fun weekend along with very comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. I would stay here again in a second and I encourage you to as well.
