The Loft On Congress is a 3,000 sq. ft. luxury loft and event space in the heart of Austin's business and entertainment district. Located on historic Congress Avenue with a stunning view of the Texas State Capitol and the Paramount Theatre, this urban loft is the ideal location for executive stays or attending any of Austin's year-round events including Austin City Limits, the Austin Film Festival, SXSW, Formula One and UT football. Whether you're staying for a festival, off-site business retreat, or a weekend get-away, we've provided every comfort of home... plus a few special extras. Winner of the 2004 AIA Award for Excellence in Design, 706 Congress Ave. was meticulously restored to its original facade with a large balcony directly across from the Paramount Theater, overlooking Congress Avenue all the way to the Capitol. The owners, long-time Austinites and former gallery owners, designed a modern interior including reclaimed wood floors throughout, open staircases, poured concrete counter-tops, a unique split-level layout, and high-end furnishings and artwork. OnCongress is purpose-built as a luxury rental property with amenities such as a full chef's kitchen, living room and lounge, full-size washer/ dryer, and free WiFi. The downstairs game room includes a large screen TV, custom-built steel pool table and shuffle board table.

Please note this is an open loft space without traditional walled bedrooms.

Excellent in everyway

From the modern loft aesthetic, to the location across from the Paramount theatre and 6th st, you literally cannot pick a better place to stay. Hands down one of the coolest places, at the absolutely best location you could find; if you’re on the fence just go ahead and book it - it’s a great experience!

Location is nice and it’s a big space; effectively one large 3 story room. downside is most of the beds are couches which fold flat. One of them appeared broken and so our friend just slept on couch. No extra frills

Awesome stay in a cool space

Had a wonderful weekend in this loft!! We were eight guys in Austin for a bachelor party. We got a gift at the beginning # which was very sweet of them. We loved the pool table and shuffleboard. The space itself is super roomy and stylish - the bachelorettes ditched their own place to come hang out at ours! As other reviews have stated, the whole space is open and continuous, and other than the one bed, bedding is all futons. That being said, we were very comfortable, and there was enough bedding for 8 of us to sleep comfortably! Only issue would be if your group doesn't want to share beds

Perfect for a girls weekend

I was worried when we pulled up because the bottom story of the building was boarded up, but once we were able to find and enter the building, everything was as advertised. The place was clean and nice! If you’re going with a group that will require more than one vehicle, expect to pay an extra $70 or so per vehicle for parking over a weekend. The location was great and within walking distance of mostly everything we wanted to do. Can’t wait to plan our next stay here!

This place was a blast! It has it all, location, games, clean I couldn’t be happier with my stay.

I lived in Austin about 3 years ago and wanted to come back for my bachelor party. I wanted to stay somewhere fun downtown where we could all stay in one spot. When I came across this property I knew I had found it. It was so nice to have the games downstairs to play while people were getting ready and the location was perfect. We could walk every where we wanted to go and there was a great spot for brunch across the street. Plenty of space for all the guys to stay and having the porch was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a fun and unique stay.

Love it! + a couple tips

This is a really cool property!! Genevieve was there to quickly answer every question we had the whole weekend. It’s a great place to hang out with a group of people. IDEAL location! Things I wish I would’ve known before booking... every single noise carries throughout the ENTIRE house (if someone is breathing heavy on the bottom floor, you will hear it on the top floor). There’s only one parking space for the whole house. The kitchen is pretty, but not super functional if you’re trying to cook for a lot of people. Counter space is limited and there’s no pantry. I’d recommend no more than 6 adults staying in this house... while it says it sleeps more, the beds designed for 2 people are pretty small (minus the king upstairs). Overall, I’d recommend it, I just wish we’d known those things before arriving. :)

Large Loft that did not disappoint

We were very happy with our accommodations and the loft was clean! Great spot to unwind after checking out Austin, and the pool table and shuffle board were an added bonus. Centrally located to everything and was very private for being in the heart of the city. Would go back if visiting Austin in the future.
