The hostal is located an east bus ride from the centre of Barcelona in a quiet and safe neighborhood. It is small and very clean. My only concern is that there are no windows in the rooms but there are skylights.

We enjoyed our 2-night stay at Hostal Alogar. The room was small but clean, and the staff was uniformly welcoming and helpful. The surrounding neighborhood was very nice and non-touristy, full of local boutiques and restaurants. The only thing was that it’s a bit of a walk from the closest Metro station (Hospital Clinic stop on L3).

Paper thin walls

Check in very good with Diego. Very helpful. The smallest room we have ever stayed in though unfortunately. Although we were not in it alot it was quite a challenge to move around and even open our suitcases. The main problem was the VERY thin walls. We were kept awake until 1 am with other guests talking and banging doors with no regard for other guests. Location was good and in a good area. Easy to get around as we used the trams and Metro alot.

My husband and I rented a private room with a shared bathroom. The bed was comfy, everything was super clean. There was even housekeeping every day to come make the bed and change towels. Definitely a more upscale hostel which was excellent to save a little on a hotel but not feel too rugged. Thanks!

Diego was amazing and attentive to all of our needs. We were greeted with a warm welcome and any questions we had he was happy to assist us. It was our first time in Barcelona and he made sure we knew how to get around and always greeted us with a smile in the morning. Location is near some shopping, a little far from the center and beaches but train station is less than 10 minute walk. Some really cute cafés nearby. Would definitely recommend.

I really recommend this place. Diego, our host was very kind and accommodating in our short stay. The hostel is modest but very well equipped and organised. It's a very nice neighbourhood, not too busy and convenient to walk or take public transport to the city center. I would come back for sure. Thanks!

Diego and Gustavo were so helpful and accommodating. The rooms are simple and cozy but very clean and comfortable. It’s a very safe area and easy for transportation. The elevator and the marble stairs up to the hostal are very Euro - great hostal!

Hostel is located in a nice neighborhood of Barcelona, bus service is half a block away and metro is 3 blocks away. Plenty of restaurants and markets nearby. The rooms are small and minimalistic, some have private restrooms and some don't. They are modern, clean and well maintained. There is a communal kitchen with everything you could need. The staff is very friendly and helpful and are there from 9am to 9pm. There is a parking garage next door. Never thought I would stay at a hostel, but this one is a gem!
