Danubius Hotel District V

"the hotel was clean, the breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. The location is also in a wonderful area full of restaurants and a little bodega acoss the street. My only complaint is just related to the room layout. The shower and the sink were just behind a curtain and the toilet was in a watercloset. I found the openness of the shower area a little odd, and the room was on the small side. no side tables but there was a pocket to put some bedside items on the bed frame."

"The hotel staff is very good. Helpful and goes above and beyond. However, I took one star out because we had an unfortunate incident with no heat in our room. It was very cold and made it difficult to sleep. Only after two days a maintenance guy who knew what is what appeared and, while could not fix the thermostat, brought a space heater to the room (earlier some of staff claimed not to have one). We also did not like the unreasonable difference between ordering breakfast as part of booking the room (7 Euro per person) and the price without prior order (36.5 Euro per person). After eating breakfast at the hotel once and being surprised by the charge, we had breakfast in subsequent days in several of the outstanding coffee shops in the hotel’s vicinity. Despite these two small issues, the hotel is lovely. Small and very un-American (no large lobby, tiny elevators, a joke of a gym), we enjoyed our stay. Mostly because the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Also the location is superb."

"Staying at the Áurea Ana Palace Hotel feels like stepping into another era — a time of imperial grandeur, timeless elegance, and exquisite European craftsmanship. More than just a five-star hotel, it is a beautiful reminder of Budapest’s Austro-Hungarian heritage, where historic architecture and refined interiors blend effortlessly with modern comfort. Just a short distance from the majestic Danube, the hotel offers more than a luxurious stay — it offers a connection to the history, culture, and romance of this extraordinary city."
