Our stay at Sugar Loaf Lodge and Cabins was an unforgettable part of our road trip. The setting was absolutely stunningâpeaceful, surrounded by snow-dusted woods, and the kind of cozy, rustic charm that makes you instantly feel relaxed. The cabin was clean, warm, and welcoming after a long day of driving through Glacier National Park. We even woke up to snow, which made the whole place feel magical. A perfect mountain retreat that weâll be recommending to friends and family. Hope to be back someday!
Perfect off the grid get away. Comfortably rustic. Read the cabin descriptions! I almost ended up in a cabin without indoor plumbing! That would have been a little more rustic than I had bargained for.
This was an amazing location in the middle of the woods. A great place to unplug. The cabin was comfortable (especially the beds). And while it was a dry cabin (which was not clear when I booked it), the bathroom was not far at all. We really enjoyed playing pool in the main lodge and walking around the beautiful property.
This is perhaps more a failure of Expedia than fault of the owners negligent description. Anyhow, here is what we observed and werenât aware of at booking: This is an off the grid cabin without running water. There is no toilet. Restroom facilities are shared -one toilet, one shower- and 50â away. Bring a flashlight if you have to go at night! There is no mountain view through the tiny 12â by 18â windows nor otherwise, even though advertised. Describing a shelf with a propane cooker and not even a sink as kitchenette I feel is pushing it. This property was rated âoutstandingâ by Expedia. I suppose in a way, it truly was. None of the other 8 accommodations on our trip compared to it, not even close. Oh, and be aware, the location description is misleading; it is actually 11 miles away from the town Expedia tells you it is located in. Youâll find yourself in a wooded remote area with poor/no cell phone reception. Paying as much for this as a large hotel room with AC, shower, toilet, and running water costs, without being aware of its âuniqueâ features got me off Expedia. There may be a clientele for this type of âroughing itâ accommodation, I just wish Expedia & the owner were more upfront with what this really is. Outstanding? Not in my books. Sorry.
The cabin is rustic and very comfortable. My only issue was the lack of outlets in the sleeping area. I use a CPAP and was not able to use it at this property. The separate bath house had a strong cat urine smell, but it is in a nature filled area. The beds were very comfortable and the area extremely quiet.
Wonderfully quiet retreat. Just be aware that some of the cabins share a bathroom that is down a gravel path 50' or so, and that they don't have running water in the sleeping area/kitchen. That said, they do provide water in a huge thermos with a spigot, and the kitchenette is fully equipped. There are board games and a gas fireplace indoors, and table and chairs outside where you can hear the horses nickering while you enjoy the lovely surroundings. Highly recommended!
