Very grateful for the comfortable home located close to the Navy base. Everything was clean. The host was quick to respond to any concerns we had. Could not find the laundry but didnât really have the need nor time to search. If you have more then 2 or 3 in your group and stay longer then a couples of days you may want to bring more towels. The only working TV is in the living room. Over all it was a very nice place with a very efficient host.
The place was nice and in a nice location. It had all the amenities you could really need, it was clean and the beds were pretty comfy. Parking was a little iffy but not too bad. The only complaint is that it's a two story and the top floor can be rented by someone else. The building is old and the floors are very creaky and if someone rents the place above you it can be very very noisy. The place is off a main road and one of the bedrooms is next to that road and it can get noisy as well. Other than that it was a nice stay and it's not too far from places to eat, shop, etc.
Very cute home in a great location! We cooked and served Thanksgiving here to my navy son, our small family and a few of his sailor friends. The space had everything we needed for that and plenty of room. The rooms were comfortable the supplies offered for cleaning were perfect! We got snow while here and my kids loved the yard to play in. I accidently miscounted the days we were staying and they immediately extended it for me with zero stress. If we come visit my son again we will def be back! 10/10 recommend
Communication with owners was prompt and thorough. The property was conveniently located for the Naval base graduation we attended. Back bedroom door to exterior was drafty. Older home lots of charm and creaky floors
Great location, clean and comfortable house. Easy access and convenient parking. The only 2 reasons why I did not give a 5 were the really loud creaking floors and the overall lack of outlets in the house. Maybe one outlet per room. Plenty of room for 6 people to be comfortable. If you stay in this one, bring long phone charger cords or the extension cords with extra plug ins. Can't do anything with the floors but walking quietly is not an option if that is something you need. Fully stocked kitchen as far as cookware. Stocked coffee bar. Laundry detergent and dishwasher pods provided as well.
Stayed here while attending daughters boot camp graduation and her liberty weekend. was a very short drive to the base. The home was comfortable and relaxing with plenty of room. My daughter liked that she could relax after being in boot camp and nobody felt cramped or crowded. We were able to bake some of her favorite foods as well as take a short drive to may attractions and the airports.
The property was in a great location, we were there for my sister's graduation from Navy bootcamp. Liked the fenced in yard for the dogs and the quiet neighborhood it was in. The only issue I had was the uostairs neighbors wouldnt close and lock the front door after they left. Several times i found the front door and gate latch open, my dogs escaped the yard twice but i quickly got them bavk. Other than thag minor inconvenience the place was perfect and affordable to accommodate my needs during our stay in Waukegan.
Centrally located to GL Navy Base, food, and shopping. Located in a quiet neighborhood. Quaint older home. It is a little drafty in Dec though. There are 2 parking spots that are often blocked by neighbors. Beds were comfy. The kitchen has just about everything you need to cook at home if your sailor prefers to stay in. It does lack in electrical plug ins so bring a portable charger to have your phone by the bed. The front bedroom has a lot of windows and is close to the road. The best bedroom is the one by the kitchen with the large bed. Great water temp and pressure. Also, quick response from property mgr if there are any problems.
The property is older with very creeky floors and busy road out front but the neighborhood was pleasant, easy to access and had designated parking in back. Everything I googled: grocery, food, Starbucks, NEX, Navy Grad, was all 7 to 14 min away (O'Hare about 30 min). The only thing we couldn't find was beach access but were close to drive to a peer. All towels, bedding, dish soap, trash bags, pots and pans, plates and cups, TP, paper towels, were comfortably provided. Minimum stairs for my mom to navigate, convenient back door and fenced yard for furbaby to go outside. My graduate was given weekend liberty and we were able to extend our trip into Monday, the host responded quickly and made the process seamless.
This is not a new property and has the charm and quirks to prove it. Overall I would definitely choose this over a hotel. Highly recommend!!
Our visit to Waukegan, IL was to attend my son's navy boot camp graduation. The property was nice and in a quiet neighborhood hood. It is close to the Great Lakes Naval base and the beach. We enjoyed our stay.
