Cumberland was once home to one of the biggest coal mining operations in BC.
âCamp Roadâ was originally built in the late 1800's as temporary housing for European coal miners.
Today a thriving community of artists, athletes and eccentrics, each house on the street has developed a unique flavour and character.
Located at the foot of our beloved Community Forest - a gateway to an extensive network of trails - you can walk, bike or drive to the beautiful vistas of Comox Lake.
Winter activities (as well as year-round mountain biking and hiking) are only 20-30 minutes away at Forbidden Plateau or Mt. Washington.
Getting Around: 250m from main trailhead and downtown core. 3.9km to the beaches of glacier-fed Comox lake. 7.4km to ocean and boating activities. 15min drive to Nymph Falls Nature Park on the Puntledge River. 20-30min drive to skiing, hiking and cycling on Forbidden Plateau and Mt. Washington.
House was clean and well equipped. Super close to the mtb trail network. We reached out to Paulina for a early check in and she responded quickly and let us in eary. I would book again.
Clean, spacious, beautiful and fully equipped with all we needed. The loft was perfect for the kids. The location is perfectly located close to the trails and town. Would highly recommend.
We were all in love with the Camp House with our New Years Stay there. It was even better than it looked in the pictures. Very clean, very well stocked and just a perfect place to spend a special occasion with family. We would highly. recommend The Camp House to anyone interested in staying in the area!
I ahighly recommend the Camp House! Paulina is responsive, friendly, and offers stellar service excellence! I hope to return to this space in the future, very clean, fresh, loads of light, natural scenery, walkable, quiet, and beautiful. I had the perfect birthday celebration at the Camp House!
The Camphouse is a beautiful home, and easily one of the most comfortable places I've stayed.
Paulina was a breeze to communicate with, and the home had everything we needed for a great get away. Would definitely recommend.
Great property for a family reunion. The space was perfect for our needs and we enjoyed the space and the small town of Cumberland. Local woodland lakes, bars and restaurants all very good. Thanks for our stay.
The house is very comfortable and stylish. Beautiful design. The owners were great to deal with and easy to reach. Walking distance to everything in Cumberland and great walking and biking trails.
4 of us stayed here for a writing retreat and we found it a beautiful place conveniently located walking distance to beautiful forest trails, restaurants and museum. All the amenities but also access to get away from it all. The house itself feels like it should be in Architectural Digest or some such. It does stand out quite a bit amongst the more modest neighborhood houses (which maybe accounts for the surliness of 1 neighbour we encountered when we turned around in their driveway and they came out to tell us that was private property - but this didnât really impact our stay for the rest of the 3 days)
A few minor things were missing - eg we ran out of hand soap and dishwasher pucks, and there was no hand-washing dish soap, but the folks doing the property management told us to co tact them if we needed anything, so that was on us that we didnât communicate to ask them while we were there. They are lovely people and the property owner was very prompt in all communications.
Would highly recommend for a writing retreat or a splurge if you like access to beautiful trails, quaint town and cool architecture.
