Built on the site of the 17th Century formal gardens of houses on the Royal Mile, everything that Edinburgh city has to offer is a few minutes walk from here - Old Town, New Town, Princes Street – history, architecture, galleries, shops, restaurants, cafes, theatres and cinemas.

You can even take a leisurely (or not so leisurely!) walk nearby in Holyrood Park taking in the breathtaking views of Edinburgh from Arthur's Seat.

The Botanist Apartment (formerly the Parkgate Residence) is a 2nd floor flat with lift forming part of an exclusive luxury built development adjacent to the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace and Dynamic Earth. Enjoy the stunning view of Arthur’s Seat and Salisbury Crags as you have breakfast at the solid oak dining table, planning your day in this wonderful city.

In the spacious living/dining room, relax into the plush leather chesterfield sofas with their stylish pure wool plaid cushions as you settle in to watch some of the classic Scottish movie DVDs that have been selected for you. Enjoy the modern Scottish art prints adorning the walls, showing scenes from around Edinburgh.

Pure white 200 count Egyptian cotton bed linen and top of the range memory foam with pocket spring mattresses provide the ultimate in comfort for a great night sleep, as you recharge from exploring this iconic city. Bedroom 1 has a super king bed, which can also be set up as two singles, and an en-suite shower room with toilet and basin. In bedroom 2 you will find a double bed. There is also a main bathroom with a bath and shower over, toilet and basin.

The flat has the convenience of a lift/elevator - very handy if you've tired yourself out with sightseeing (or shopping)!

There one secure designated garage parking space, as well as a flat screen TV, NowTV Box, Bose Soundlink speaker and wifi throughout.

Tasty eateries and cafes are on your doorstep allowing you to refuel after a busy day or set yourself up for a day of shopping with a wholesome breakfast. There is also a convenient local supermarket in the same block should you wish to relax and cook at home in your fully-equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.

Entry to the apartment is from 4pm onwards; Check-ins after 8pm will be subject to a late entry fee of £20, and check-ins after 11pm are subject to a fee of £40. Earlier entry can perhaps be arranged but depends if there is a departure at your chosen apartment that day. This can be confirmed, with your host, within 48 hours of arrival.

The latest departure time is 11:00, however, a guaranteed later departure (up to 20:00) can be arranged for a fee of 50% of the daily rate for that day but please note this is subject to no existing booking arriving that day already. This can be arranged with us 48h before your check-out.

A cot, cot bedding and a high chair are available on request for £10 per night.

Great location to enjoy the Edinburgh Fringe

A welcoming and equipped apartment within walking distance of the Grassmarket and Royal Mile areas.

Acceptable, and convenient location

The upsides were the convenience of location, the cleanliness and adequate equipment of the flat's interior, and the good quality furniture. The downsides were the appalling stink of garbage that filled the block's entrance lobby and followed one into the lift, and the corporate anonymity of the flat. It lacked homeliness and oddity, its pictures were from stock, and though its outlook gave a welcome glimpse of Arthur's Seat it also gave a full frontal view of one of Britain's least lovely apartments blocks opposite.

Great location for visiting Edinburgh

Lovely apartment in great location for easy access to many of the sightseeing activities. Very clean apartment, tastefully decorated. Parking great advantage. My only quibble would be to have better pressure in the shower, that being said the showers function well.
