The person at the desk for check in, was bothered by us. She was clearly not in the mood to help us. The place has broken brick and sidewalks. The front desk is a mess due to remodeling needs. The communal bathroom in the lobby was labeled âout of order,â but it wasnât. They just didnât want to clean it, Iâm sure. The pool was cold at 45 degrees. I feel as though I paid twice as much as the room was worth.
Iâm not sure if this a new property that is not finished or an old property that is being renovated. The front desk has a partial countertop. Some of the carpet is looking dated. However, the place was clean and safe. No issues checking in but there is a hundred dollar damage fee you have to pay upon arrival. It will be returned upon checkout. Our king size bed was enormous but the mattresses are starting to have a permanent contour in them. We never got our TV to work on any channel. They have a free breakfast which was convenient and tasty. Our check out was quick and easy. No mention of my deposit. Iâll have to wait to see if that is credited back to my card. I would stay here again and bring my family. They do have an indoor pool but we donât use it. Overall, not a bad place to stay for a few days.
The hotel was okay. The employees were all nice, and they were all hard workers, which leads me to believe maybe there arenât enough employees. The rooms themselves were clean, the rest of the hotel was tidy but not necessarily clean, a lot of un-dusted, grubby surfaces. The pool area had not been cleaned in the span of 13 hour period, and it was not in a very clean state. The hotel is maybe going through a renovation, so the interior looks nothing like the pictures. You get the feeling being here that the owners are on the brink of the decision to either make some renovations/upgrade or let the hotel slip.
We stayed with our family for a soccer tournament. The staff was friendly and mostly helpful. Our first room had mold all over the curtains so they had us move rooms, which was a hassle with 3 kids including a 4 month old. Our tub drain was clogged or something and drained incredibly slow, there was still some small amounts of mold on the curtain in our second room. One pillow case when we arrived had blood stains on it. Our friends room next to ours was missing the smoke detector. Overall, this hotel wasnât worth the price.
Was a 3 night stopover in Fairbanks before we travelled further to the interior of Alaska. HĂŽtel was in a great location with Pioneer park just a short walk away,
The hotel is undergoing some refurbishment at the moment and looks a bit tired. Noise wasnât an issue though and breakfast although basic was quite clearly hot and freshly prepped
Oh and the local family that offer the taxi service to this Hotel are just brilliant.
Golden Heart I think was the taxi name.
