Private Log Cabin in Goldstream Valley of Fairbanks

Hello! Comfy Caribou Lodge is the perfect place to stay while enjoying all that interior Alaska has to offer! This 1,700 sqft cabin has that rustic, cozy feeling that only a log cabin can provide on the first floor, but the second floor is completely modern! It's a perfect location for families or couples to enjoy nature as well as each other.

Inside you will find a rustic yet modern space with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, and comfortable living room.

Automatic Generator -- Weather in Alaska is unpredictable and electric outages are frequent. Our cabin is equipped with an automatic generator that will sense a power outage, turn on automatically, and deliver generator power until utility power returns -- whether two hours or two weeks! This is a BIG PLUS for living in Alaska.

The outdoor and cultural resources are endless!

Goldstream Creek runs through the valley of Fairbanks, providing habitat for fox, moose, numerous birds, and many other small mammals. The area has multiple trails used by hikers, bird watchers, dog walkers, berry pickers in the summer, and by skiers, dog mushers, and many others in the winter.

We provide a binder full of local information to help make the most of your vacation.

In Search of the Northern Lights
This was the perfect place for us to stay as we searched for the Northern Lights. We could not have been happier with our accommodations. The cabin is beautiful, easy to get to, and everything worked as it should. Highly recommend you will not be disappointed.

This property exceeded our expectations. It was clean, clean, clean! It had all the necessary provisions! Beds were comfortable, linens were thick and fluffy, bed sheets were a very comfortable soft flannel, it was tastefully decorated, and the first night we saw the Aurora from both the front and back decks!! We wouild DEFINITELY stay there again and HIGHLY recommend the property to others.

Amazing Dream Trip
We were looking for the perfect place to check off a bucket list viewing of the Northern Lights...and this was THE perfect place. The Comfy Caribou Lodge was exactly as described and did not disappoint. The location was absolutely amazing for viewing the Aurora as the cabin is far enough from the city lights for dark skies, but still close for groceries and restaurants. The lodge stayed warm and cozy as temperatures were near or below zero. Plenty of extra space heaters for warmth and a BIG plus with heated floors upstairs. The kitchen was well equipped for making meals at home and plenty of stocked essentials and spices. The availability of keeping your car plugged in on the super cold nights was very convenient. The owners were easily reachable very responsive with questions about the house and suggestions about what to do in the Fairbanks area. We had 4 amazing nights of viewing the aurora and Mother Nature did not disappoint. We highly recommend staying at this cabin if you are seeking the lights and we will for certain come back here to experience the midnight sun.

Beautiful cabin for Fairbanks vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and seemed brand new. Owners are attentive and very easy to work with. They had thought of everything. Location is perfect - close enough to town to enjoy Fairbanks but remote enough to feel private and quiet. We will stay here again!

Winter Wonderland
Our goal was to see the Northern Lights. We were not disappointed. While we tried different locations, the best pictures were made from the second floor window of the cabin or outside on the front porch. The cabin itself had everything you needed to cook with, to relax or play games or watch TV. If we ever go back to Fairbanks this is the place we will choose to stay - warm or cold weather conditions. Thanks for a great memory.

Very nice cabin with awesome aurora veiws
Cabin was amazing with beautiful views of the aurora right from the cabin! The hosts was very welcoming and kept in contact to ensure everything was up to standards and gave great recommendations! Was a little chilly in the cabin and heat would turn down automatically for night time but was alright if you caught it and turned it back up! Can not wait to come back!

Beautiful log cabin, exceptional hosts
This is quite a nice log cabin situated close enough to Fairbanks for restaurants and activities, but far enough out to feel like you're in the wilderness. The living room is comfortable and equipped with blankets, pillows, a TV, and an assortment of games and puzzles. The kitchen is very well appointed, with every tool, pot, or dish one could need. The three bedrooms were all comfortable as well. We had some unfortunate weather during our visit - extremely cold even for Fairbanks in January - and our hosts were proactive in making sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. We had some questions here and there, and they responded immediately. We felt very taken care of during our time there. We highly recommend this property, both for the property itself and the gracious, helpful hosts with whom you'll be communicating.

Gorgeous, welcoming cabin in the magic of the Alaskan winter
At the end of our stay last week our whole family agreed that we wished we could stay another week. The house is beautiful, modern and spacious, with wonderful appliances, washer and dryer, etc., but it is also a classic log cabin. It is nestled in the trees with no visible neighbors, but it’s only 15 minutes from downtown Fairbanks, Costco, antler arch, etc. I read some reviews about supplies that Spencer and Meera leave for guests, but we were completely unprepared for the fully stocked shelves of food (pancake mix, oatmeal, canned soup, a bag of snack food, several bags of popcorn, etc., etc.) We went to Costco for perishables, but that was about it. It’s the perfect home base for aurora viewing. You can actually sit right upstairs on the north side of the cabin and watch and then if it gets going we found a wonderful spot on a hill halfway to town only five minutes from the house. It was at least as good as the “famous” spots like Murphy dome. Spencer was incredibly helpful the entire time with the house, with food and restaurant recommendations, snowshoe trail ideas, and so much more. He also gave good general advice for dealing with winter in Alaska. It was a true home away from home. Thank you so much Spencer and Meera!
