Sophie's hideout in the Great Smoky Mountains

Sophie's Hideaway is a 3 story Cabin built in 2019, 1900 ft up into the Great Smoky Mountains. 3 bedroom (7 total beds) 3 bath w/ loft measuring in at 2550 sqft and over 2000sqft of Balconies on 3 different levels. Recently Added Movie and Game Rooms. Sleeps 12. Beautiful Views. Just 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg, and 8 miles from Pigeon Forge. Cabin has wifi, Grill, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Board and Card Games. Located in the Condo Villa Section it also Boasts a community pool and clubhouse.
Sleeping Arrangements are King Beds in Each Bedroom, Queen Sleeper Sofa downstairs Twin/Twin Trundle Upstairs in Loft. and Full over Queen Bunk Bed in Game Room Downstairs There are also 2 Queen Air Mattresses if needed

My family of five spent a long weekend here right before Christmas, and we had a wonderful time. The hot tub and movie area were huge hits with everyone. The location is perfect: close enough to be just 10-20 minutes from all the main attractions, yet tucked away for that peaceful Smoky Mountains vibe. This was our third year visiting the area around Christmas, and this property easily had the best views we’ve experienced so far. We’d definitely recommend it to family and friends!

We had so much fun. It’s near the city strip! Kids love the games and theater! It’s set up like a home away from home. We had everything we needed. Take you time on the road up! It was beautiful we had Thanksgiving in this cabin! It was decorated with Christmas decor but it was still nice! YES you will see bears! We saw two and they were babies! 10/10 from us! Phil is awesome!

Our stay was fantastic! Check in was super easy and the place had everything we could have needed. The views and wildlife were amazing. Phil responded immediately to questions and was a great host. The location was great as well-out of the way but just a couple minutes to downtown.

Beautiful cabin

We loved this place. It looked just like the pictures. The view was amazing! My kids enjoyed the games (some didnt work but thats ok) and the movie room. The streaming platforms available were great. The kitchen had everything we needed. We did bring extra trash bags and we did need those. My only complaint is also that we weren’t aware of the bunk room bedroom only being accessible from outside until I saw it on recent reviews. I would like to see this updated in the listing as we were not comfortable allowing our daughter to sleep down there by herself. This made us change the sleeping arrangements.

It was a good time.

Overall it was a nice cabin we did find quite a few things in drawers in different rooms of the house and one of the bedrooms which we had planned to be the kids room was not able to be gotten to from inside of the house but overall a very nice cabin and stay.

Great Stay and Amazing Views!

My family stayed in June of 2025. The cabin was fantastic. SO many games and activities for the kids. They were never bored and DID NOT want to leave. Lots of sleeping options. Hot tub was great. Movie room was awesome. Parking was easy and the cabin's location was really great. Short drives to heart of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Smokies. Three things to note though: 1. the downstairs arcarde room and movie rooms are not accessible from inside the main cabin area. You have to go outside and down some stairs to get there. Not a huge deal, but we didn't realize it until we got there. 2. there are bears in the area. In fact, I forgot to lock our vehicle one night, and the bears gladly opened every door and gave our car a thorough "inspection." I knew better and take he blame for it, but do be sure to lock your car doors. 3. The pictures DO NOT do the view justice. The views from the cabin were nothing short of spectacular (see picture). We spent a lot of time just sitting there looking at the mountains (I believe it is Mt. LeCounte) facing the rear of the cabin. Lastly, the owner, Phil, was very easy to reach and communicated really well. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay and I can't recommend it enough.

We had an amazing time! The house is beautiful and so clean! A few of the arcade games weren’t working (big buck world, pac man) but the kids really enjoyed having their own space in the game room/movie room. We enjoyed spending time on the deck with the hot tub and tv, but would’ve liked if the furniture was a tad more comfortable or had cushions. We would’ve used the furniture from the lower deck more but it was soaked all weekend from the rain. We were happy to get a visit from the bear on our first day. He wasn’t scared of us at all so make sure to not leave any food or garbage out. The views from all balconies were gorgeous! We will definitely stay here again!!! Highly recommend!!!!

We had a wonderful time staying at Sophie’s hideout. The view was spectacular, the bear sightings were entertaining and the owner/host was very helpful. Also, the drive up was not so bad, but I do recommend arriving before dark the first time up. I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Cabin.

The hideaway is a great place to stay, beautiful inside and out. Beautiful views. Really great for good with the movie room and game room. We’ve stayed on this cabin several times. One of the best all around!

Amazing views

The views from the porches were breathtaking and were much enjoyed while having coffee in the morning and ending the day watching the sun go down. The area was peaceful and easy to get to. The cabin was clean. We were sad to leave! Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful cabin in the mountains

The cabin looks exactly like the photos. The view is stunning, more beautiful than the pictures. We loved that the cabin was out of the chaos and crowded streets of Gatlinburg but was just a quick drive to get back to all the fun activities. The game room/movie theater, hot tub, and amazing deck views were the highlights of the cabin. The fireplace was also an added bonus. The cabin was clean but there was a cloth couch that has seen better days. It had some stains. Some of the cushions had slip covers, yet some did not. Also, both main beds (downstairs and upstairs bedrooms) had piling on the mattresses that you could feel through the sheets and the pillows were very thin, which made for a poor quality of sleep. Phil was very responsive. He answered all questions and addressed any problems right away. Side note: There is not a way to get to the game room and movie theater from inside the cabin. You have to go outside and down the stairs. It wasn’t terrible, just not ideal as my 3 and 6 year olds wanted to be down there often and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving them down there by themselves.

Highly recommend!

The pictures online do not do this place justice! My family and I have been coming to Gatlinburg for years, and we have never stayed in a place with such a beautiful view. We were also excited to see that it was already decorated for Christmas! The area is beautiful, and it’s just down the road from downtown Gatlinburg. We also saw a few bears multiple times throughout our trip (make sure to lock your cars!!). Absolutely cannot recommend this cabin enough, and my family is already planning our next trip!
