The Space:

Snow‑dusted trees line the private road as you arrive at Forest Haven, their quiet presence inviting you to breathe in crisp mountain air. Tall east‑facing windows frame the forest, letting soft winter light spill across the loft‑style chalet. After a day of exploring the trails, steam rises from the private hot tub while the fire pit glows, creating a perfect moment of calm under the stars.



Sleeping arrangements

Two bedrooms each hold a queen bed, dressed with fresh linens, extra pillows, and blankets for cozy mountain nights. The layout comfortably sleeps four guests.



Kitchen & dining

A full kitchen provides everything you need for a quiet breakfast before a hike or a relaxed dinner after a day outdoors. A spacious deck with a BBQ grill extends the dining area into the forest setting, and a dining table inside keeps everyone together.



Outdoor living

Step onto the deck to feel the forest surround you. The private hot tub offers warm relief after cold adventures, and the fire pit invites evening gatherings. A collection of yard games adds playful options for kids and adults alike. The backyard is open and not fully fenced, so keep an eye on pets. Returning home to VA

Just an overnight stay. On our way back home from northern New York. The place was nice. It is peaceful sitting on the deck. The check in process was a little tedious with various emails and downloads required. The Backstep is a little sketchy. Be careful walking in. Overall the place was nice

Serene beauty

Words cannot express the experience we had at this beautiful cabin. They just would not do it justice, but I am going to try. Driving to the cabin, in the neighborhood, you feel a sense of serenity and peace. The neighborhood seems like a family place. Full of love and joy. Ample parking is provided at the cabin. The excitement amplified as we see a fire pit and what our view will be from the porch. We open the door to an absolutely clean and fresh smelling cabin. We arrived at dusk, which made our view out the large windows even more beautiful than the pictures on the site portrayed. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every second of our time in the cabin. We went grocery shopping at the food lion 14 min away, and just had a perfectly quiet retreat in the home. My two complaints, I couldn’t stay longer
and I couldn’t find a pen to sign the guest book. I am almost wary of writing a good review
 because soon enough I won’t be able to afford to come back again. We are already planning our return trip with our kids and fur babies.

Beautiful Cabin in the woods

The house has been newly furnished and looks out over wooded valley. You're far enough away from everyone else, but it's a quick 15 minute ride to the Food Lion. Only limitation: the TV is in the bedroom in the loft.

The property was immaculate with new furnishings. I was able to access the house an hour early on the day of arrival, thanks to great communication from owner. He checked in to make sure I didn't have any questions later that day. I booked the property for some peace and quiet and it certainly met my expectations. Stairs to loft room, where TV is located, are quite steep but my 10-year old dog and I got used to it.
