Seasonal Lake Conditions Lake Erie is a natural body of water and conditions can change throughout the summer. For a few weeks each year, algae blooms may occur, which can temporarily affect swimming and, at times, create an unpleasant outdoor smell.
The shoreline and lakebed are a natural mix of sand and rock, and conditions can change with weather and water levels. We strongly recommend wearing water shoes when entering the lake.
This is a lake-wide, seasonal occurrence beyond our control, and we share this so you can plan your stay with clear expectations.
A Few Helpful Notes - The home uses a cistern and septic system â please use water mindfully. - As with any lakefront stay, insects may be present indoors and outdoors. - Please follow the simple hot tub care guidelines provided.
Pets We welcome one well-behaved dog. Please clean up after pets, keep them off furniture and on our property.
Safety Water, shoreline access, and use of SUP boards and the kayak are enjoyed at your own risk. Children must be supervised at all times outdoors.
Several life jackets and water shoes are provided, however guests may prefer to bring their own to ensure proper fit and comfort.
The property sits approximately 15 feet above the shoreline, and some areas are steep. Access to the water is via a ramp, which can be steep for some and slippery when wet. We recommend moving carefully and wearing water shoes when entering the lake.
The property is not fenced on the road side, children and pets should be supervised at all times.
An exterior security device monitors the driveway only.
Security Deposit A $500 security deposit (credit card hold) is required prior to arrival. This is a standard hold and is released after check-out, provided there is no damage or violation of house guidelines Check-in is after 4:00pm and check-out is by 11:00am. These times are strictly enforced out of respect for our cleaning team. A $100 fee applies to any unapproved early check-in or late check-out.
Water is limited at the cottage as we are on a cistern, so please be mindful of how much you use during your stay.
Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am.
Only registered guests are permitted on the property. Pets require prior approval before booking.
Smoking and vaping are allowed outdoors only, on the driveway and at least 10 feet from all decks and buildings. All indoor spaces are strictly non-smoking.
Please follow the garbage, septic, and water guidelines outlined in the cottage binder.

Beautiful place to stay! Very organized, clean, easy to follow directions for all you needed to know about the cottage. Host communicated in a timely way, was easy to chat with and pleasant. Loved everything about our stay and already rebooked with them! Highly recommend Nik and Nat and their beautiful cottage!
The property is immaculately kept. The hosts have gone above & beyond to ensure renters have everything they could possibly need. The beds were comfortable, the space was calming, the view from the deck was breathtaking and the hot tub was pure bliss! Simply the Best! We will be back!
Last minute getaway for my Birthday. Canât beat the view from the living room, bedroom and hot tub no matter what type of weather. Loved the cozy fireplace to take the chill out of the spring air. I highly recommend opening the kitchen windows to hear all the frogs and hundreds of birds in the green space across the road. So peaceful. Bring your binoculars to check out the different water fowl. Wood ducks, mergansers and buffleheads plus some adorable baby geese. Great communication and we had everything we needed to feel right at home.
We had the most wonderful weekend at Nat&Nicks cottage. The space was so cozy and chic, the views of the lake from the deck and hot tub were fabulous. A definite revisit !
Stayed at lake house for 3 nights and not long enough. Views of lake beautiful. Hot tub welcoming clean and well kept as was the property. Perfect touches in the house add to the cozy atmosphere, loved the organization. When booking know you will be impressed!
Our stay was idyllic. The pics were amazing and the reality lived up to the hype. It was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. We wrote all day, relaxed in the hot tub during sunsets, and walked along the shore. The owners were easy to contact thought we didnât need to often because they made everything simple and straightforward. Canât wait to come back!
We needed a quick getaway from the city, and this lovely cottage delivered. The views are beautiful, as was the cottage, inside and out. Just like the pictures! Nat was very responsive and a lovely host.
We enjoyed our stay here. The only con was there was no access except to climb down big rocks to the water. The water also had algae on the shore. We couldâve drove to a nearby beach. House was well kept and owners were helpful
Lovely cottage on Lake Erie. Beautiful views. Peaceful. We enjoyed the hot tub very much. Cottage very clean and decorated well. Kitchen was supplied well. Beds, linens, and pillows comfortable. We used the kayak and paddle board. We spent time in Niagara and also took the train to Toronto for the day.
Our experience with renting this property was flawless! As soon as we booked this cozy cottage our host Natalie reached out several times to give us suggestions of things to do in the area, great directions on a beautiful scenic route. We had a couple requests of our own that were important to us, she searched them out for us sending detailed maps.
When we got settled into the cottage it was spotless clean and absolutely beautiful and cozy. Each room had such unique accent decorations like the cozy throws, pretty pictures, little side table and fluffy stool which made the cottage so homey and comfortable. I loved the hot tub, i enjoyed a glass of wine sitting in it on a night listening to the waves hit the rocks. My husband loved the water and spent many hours outside just taking in the beautiful view. We would go back to this cottage again as we loved it so much.
Thank you Nat and Nick for sharing your cottage and all the new memories we made.
This getaway on beautiful Lake Erie did not disappoint! Natalie was a responsive and perfect host, supporting every detail of my stay inquiries. The special extra touches created a pampering feel that made it all so comfortable! We especially loved the hot tub, fireplace and spectacular views which made this the perfect needed getaway!
Being in the hot tub under the stars listening to the waves was amazing! Stunning views. Bed was super comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Nat was an amazing host. Communication was great and she helped us find a great restaurant for our anniversary dinner. Definitely want to come back in the summer.
Nat and Nicks getaway was exactly as described! The attention to detail and care that went into creating a calm escape from the city went over and above. We had absolutely everything we needed. Watching the sunset from the hot tub and walking up to the sounds of the waves made this one of the places we have stayed. We will definitely be back
