Overall, the Silver Bell was a good value for the money paid. The owner, with whom we spoke only by phone, was very pleasant.
The room we stayed in had just been renovated with new flooring, toilet, etc., so it was very clean. For us, safety and cleanliness were our two key concerns.
Be aware that there are no amenities or decorations of any kind (coffee maker, closet, suitcase stand, pictures, etc.), other than the soap that is provided. However, given the price, this was acceptable. Note - there was no table in the room but the owner had one delivered as my mother and I planned to play cards. I think normally they would have a table in the room but didn't because of the recent renovations.
Be prepared to either turn up the heat or wear all the layers you bring (as we did) because the bedding provided (sheets, thin blanket) would only be enough for a hot summer night. There are no extra blankets, so you may want to bring some.
We were a bit wary of the location (busy road) and the state of the other rooms (long term renters), so we pushed the table and chairs against the door at night, but we didn't have any problems at all. The other renters were quiet and respectful. The traffic and heater were loud, but it was an otherwise peaceful stay.
If you're just looking for a clean and reasonably priced place with no frills, I would definitely recommend the Silver Bell.
