Old facilites, terrible food.

Pros: the view was nice
Cons: renovate the facilities, new elevators, improve the food quality
Location: sall shops
The hotel is old, dated, elevators not very safe and did not work well, terrible food quality even the fried beans were bad! Worst food I had at a resort in the last 30 years! The positives: Friendly staff.

Would check another hotel before going back

Pros: location, clean private beach
Cons: No free Internet, ugly bathroom, moldy pool
Location, beach, views were PERFECT, not so perfect their ugly bathrooms and moldy pool. The pool had a "raised" area, my dauther tried to play and lay down and her swim suit got dirty with mold, we stayed for 4 days and did not see them clean pool once. The room is nice, specially if it's an ocean view but you can't feel like you are in a getaway vacation when you enter those bathrooms, they need to be remoled. For those two reasons I would try another hotel in the area before going back. Location is great, very quiet, extremely clean, I will defenitely be back to Ixtapa, revisit The Island and Delfiniti. Don't waste your time with the "promotions" of other hotels, waste of time. Krystal could do better informing their guests of what is there to see in Ixtapa. The buffet staff was very friendly, and from your table you could see the wonderful beach view.

Only one complaint

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Of course I did not get the all-inclusive package. There are lots of nice clean cheap restaurants close by. The hotel will sell you bottles of beer on the beach, but will not let you buy a six pack at the store across the street and and bring your own. That is the only complaint I have. The hotel is excellent, because of the triangular shape of the building, every room has a view of the ocean and the mountains. Free internet in the Lobby only. I recommend the Krystal, and would go back.

The staff are so friendly and helpful.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Ixtapa Krystal is one of the best hotels in ixtapa to stay. The staff are very helpful. We have never had a problem there. We have stayed there at least 3 times and each time it was well worth the money. The beach area is almost a mile long with massages right on the beach. Even when we visit Zihautenao which is a fishing village its a $5.00 taxi expense and the townspeople are very welcoming. It is truly one of the most relaxing and clean hotels around. Their food is exceptional. Its always better to go inclusive. There is also a beautiful marina within walking distance and a disco right out front for the young.

Ixtapa is beautiful!

Pros: Close restaurants, location, great ocean views, nice size hotel -- not too big
Cons: Noisy, food not so great
We wanted an affordable vacation with our teenaged children during the holidays. Krystal is defnitely affordable. The location is ideal - right in the middle of the action. The beach is beautiful in front of the hotel and the pool at this hotel is one of the best you'll find in Ixtapa. The rooms are huge (but simple) and we had great views of the ocean in two of our three rooms. The upper floors are more quiet; however, if your room is near the elevators (on any floor), the noise from the lobby is quite loud. The upper floor rooms have recently been updated, so I recommend those over the lower rooms. The biggest complaint was about the food. Your best bet is to eat at the poolside grill during the day. We did the all inclusive, but I wouldn't do it again. While the price is good, the value is not. There are lots of wonderful spots to eat very close to the hotel.

We will go back!!

We had a very good experience with the Krystal in Ixtapa. The rooms are marginal but how much time do you spend in your room. Housekeeping was outstanding, always fresh bed linens and fresh towels. The food was tasty and food server's always polite and prompt. The pool area was well groomed and the pool it self was clean and beautiful. We will go back.

Hotel NH Krystal could be better

Hotel was clean and location was good. Hotel was nice enough for the price. Some workers behind the reservations desk did not speak English well enought. Umbrellas at the pool were hard to get. Bathroom need renovation. Bathtub was not appealing.

Nice Place But....

We went for fun in the sun, swimming in the pool and body surfing in the ocean.. We accomplished that. We purchased the all inclusive. Food was ok. Bevages cold. We reviewed all the comments prior to booking. Of course we understand that bad feedback is typically what you see in reviews. We really should have pay attention a little more closely. Yes the service was poor. Check in was rediculously long. the room was not all that clean. We requested a rollaway for our son and had to ask for it 3 x. Finally had to go to front desk. Room service did not bring order. We did not receive clean towels regularly. all in all, we had a good time. Just do not have high xpectations and you to will have fun in the sun.

Great hotel, no problems for us.

Maybe we got lucky but it seemed as if there were a lot of happy people here!. We found the staff very nice and friendly and the pool a lot of fun. The room we had was nice and the bed was comfortable. The views of the Pacific were unbelievable. The town of Ixtapa had many decent restaurants and everything was reasonable including the golf courses. About my only complaint was swimming in the Pacific as the life guards are quite vigilant if you try to ride any waves...I would prefer a bit more leniency in that regard. We will be back soon!!
