Clean and well maintained rooms, I use this hotel regularly when in Liverpool on business. The Aircon / heating controls in the room are limited, as it defaults back to original setting agter a short period, unless ask at the desk to switch it off

The room was really cold, it didn’t have basic amenities like a kettle or a wardrobe, the fixtures were hanging off the walls. The bathroom lock didn’t work. The location was great (although very loud at weekends) and it was clean.

Unfriendly demand to pay for their Christmas office party fund under the pretence of tax (charges and other jazz should be in one charge for room). Missing second glazing unit (only one in place defeating the purpose), Dirty unclean shower head and lots of areas not given attention. Tile grout dirty. Broken tap in the bathroom. No kettle in room and charged for hot drinks in reception. Broken over bed light. Common areas lacking maintenance. Noisy residents 24/7 shouting on phones and to people going corridors (no reminders on wall to keep noise quiet. No night silencing of lift beeper. The nice part is the location, the retained period ceiling height and other period features.

The room was in good condition, the amenities were in good condition. My only feedback is about your Hotel website, which was down when I tried to pay for the room, after a few failed attempts to pay for the room, I decided to personally go to the hotel and pay the amount it was asking in the website. Unfortunately the person behind the desk, was not helpful and did not show any interest in helping me book the accommodation or look at trying to help with the website issue. The only response I received multiple times from the desk person was to leave the premises, go my own way and try to book the room through a third party website. In my opinion not the customer service experience I was expecting, especially mentioning that your website was not working correctly.
