La Maison Rouge: Unique Views

In the hills of the Amalfi Coast—a coastline that offers an unforgettable view or glimpse at every bend—in Maiori, in the San Vito area overlooking the sea, stands the enchanting residence "La Casa Rossa," surrounded by ancient vineyards and lush lemon groves.
The structure originated as a watchtower in the 10th century to prevent invasions by the Saracens from the sea.
Over the centuries, it underwent various transformations, eventually becoming a farmhouse around 1850.
In 2004, it was purchased and carefully renovated, preserving its warm, local atmosphere.
Elegantly finished and furnished, with large windows, terraces, and a spacious garden, it offers guests a splendid view of the blue sky and sea, as well as breathtaking panoramas.
Ideal for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation, it offers a range of informative and unforgettable excursions: Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi, Positano, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius National Park, and other beautiful tourist destinations in the area. A number of CAI trails also start here for hiking enthusiasts, winding through lemon groves and vineyards overlooking the sea.
The Amalfi Coast: a land of history and art, but above all, a place with panoramic views unmatched anywhere else in Italy. With its incomparable beauty, it attracts travellers from every corner of the globe, making it a favourite destination for international tourism. The Amalfi Coast enchants visitors with its crystal-clear sea, vibrant social life, and the flavours of traditional Mediterranean cuisine. Since 1997, it has been designated a “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO.

Beautiful views are worth the journey!

We loved the beautiful views from the Red House. It is an adventurous journey to reach the accommodations and will not suit all travellers. We would suggest packing a small bag each and bringing that from the place you have to park the car. We feel it was worth any inconvenience as the house and views are lovely!

Maiori

Spectacular Views

The Villa Rossa is a perfect retreat from the busy Amalfi Coast roads. The views really are breathtaking, but the drive to get there can be challenging for unexperienced drivers. Rent a smaller 4x4 car if you can, that will help facilitate getting to the house. From the main road, it’s a 2km drive up a precarious gravel/ asphalt path. Then once the car is parked, it’s another 300 m walk to the house. We wouldn’t recommend this house if you’re not in good physical shape, or have young children. If you want to walk down to the beach from the house, there is a walking path that will take you there, which is about a 15 minute walk. It’s a mix of steps and pathway and not very difficult. The hot-tub was a welcome relief after a long day of sightseeing. If you do any cooking, keep food in the fridge and clean up, or else you will have small ants come visit the kitchen. The house doesn’t have A/C, but our host did provide us oscillating fans, which helped. Thank you Giuseppe for a memorable, lovely stay!

Everything was great. Just didnt realize that you need a vehicle with 4 wheelndrive to get to it.

The host was amazing as is the house. As a guest if you have a four wheel drive vehicle this is a perfect spot. Quiet beautiful with a perfect view of the coastline and the mountains all around the other sides of.the house. We loved it
