Satisfied Customer

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, great marina view
Stayed from 12/10/11-12/17/11 and was very happy with all aspects of the El Cid Marina. We had a one bedroom suite and room was nice and clean with a kitchen and a King bed. Bed was a little hard for my liking but I have a Tempur Pedic at home so I am a little bias. View from balcony was great and hotel grounds were very clean and well kept. The pool was nice and the drinks were weak but tasty. We did not get all inclusive because I feel it is never a good deal and there are so many great places to eat in Mazatlan that you shouldn't feel obligated to stay and eat there. We did eat two meals at the El Cid Marina and both were very good. We did eat one meal at the El Cid Moro (La Cascada)and it was $50 and it was easily the worst meal we ate the whole time in Mexico. Mazatlan is kinda falling apart but the El Cid Marina is still very nice.

Okay hotel for a few nights. Good for children.

Pros: Close restaurants
This hotel was nothing to write home about. My 8 year old liked it because it has one pool with a cave you can swim into. Also, it was nice to see the boats and there is a shuttle boat that takes you quickly to a nice beach. The furnishings and buildings are somewhat run-down, however and the food quality in the restaurant is mediocre. A better choice for about the same price would be the Mayan Sea Garden. The room is much nice and very quiet. The pools there are beautiful.

Peaceful. Beautiful. Incredible

I stayed here for the first half of my honeymoon with my wife and this was by far the best hotel. The hotel is close enough to town to walk, but far enough away that you avoid all the major traffic. Views are incredible from the hotel balconies. Staff was incredible friendly and helpful. When you stay at any El Cid hotel, you have access to all other El Cid's in the area so we went to the El Cid country Club for massages and facials via the free shuttle that takes you between the resorts. Everything about this hotel was top notch and I will definitely stay here again. The only negative thing I have to say is that the mattresses were a tad hard, and to use the gym you have to go to El Cid Castilla, but who goes to the gym on vacation anyways? ;-) Other than that, I would highly recommend Marina El Cid!!!

Friendliness of staff. Exceed epectations. They arrange everythinig we need and/ or want from Lobster Dinners poolside private dining, fishihg and tours. All ammenities are in process of being upgraded- new linens, bath, furniture, appliances, showers-kitchens ,baths.Upgraded rooms are quality you would expect. We have stayed here every year for over 12 years. Accomodations & staff make it seem like a second home. We stay other locartions, but staff here are truly what makes this place a jem. Smaller to be personal and yet first class. Can't recommend this resort enough.

Will always come back!

This was our second time at El Cid Marina & we were not disapointed again! Compared to the other El Cids it is more slow pace which leaves more space to enjoy the pools, dining areas & more attention from hotel staff.. The staff truly tend to you & there is always good customer service. We missed our flight so we got to El Cid a day later, but hotel front desk gave us a magnificent 5th floor room with the entire ocean view. That really helped us enjoy our stay even more! Miguel, the hotel concierge was a gem!!! he made our excursions memorable & always made sure we were taken care of & knew every detail of what each sight seeing tour entailed. The grounds are kept up very nicely & having our own beach area made it much calmer & enjoyable. We are definitely going back soon & will continue to stay at El Cid Marina. Pat M.- Los Angeles, Ca

Nice for boat lovers

This was a very nice resort ... especially if you're a fan of the dock life. Pools & access to the beach was great with the added bonus of being able to watch boats coming and going from the Marina. Mazatlan itself was not my favorite place but the resort was very nice.

A simple hotel, but great for a peaceful getaway

We stayed four nights, using the basic all inclusive package. We had a one bedroom suite, with a nice view of the marina. It included a small kitchenette, counter for dining, living room area, separate bedroom, two vanities/sinks and big walk in shower. Very nice and clean, but the air conditioning in the living room area seemed to run much cooler than in the bedroom, which got a little warm while we were sleeping. I've stayed at all inclusives that feature a lot more options (multiple restaurants and bars), but we had a great time. The breakfast buffet each morning is nice - they will make omelets and smoothies to order, there is fresh fruit, pastries, and Mexican and American breakfast foods. At lunch, you can go to the same restaurant, or dine pool side. There are two nice pools - we only stayed at the smaller one (without the kids area). The service really put our experience over the top. The resort was mostly empty our first 2 nights, but even when it was busier, the service was great. The waiters come around pool side to bring drinks and food constantly. For more restaurant/bar options, we could also go to the El Cid Castilla, which seems a lot larger. The provided a lock for the in-room safe for free, so we used it, but I felt the facility was very safe. Good location, took about 20-25 minutes to get there from the airport, about 10-15 minutes to get to the Golden Zone or old downtown.

Spring Break 2009- A Beautiful and Exclusive Experience

The minute we drove up to the hotel you are greeted with such genuine hospitality. The open lobby is georgeous. The rooms were impecable. I loved that they have beautiful views from the balcony. I travel with my husband, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. We are in our middle 40's and my daughter and son in law are 19, our grandson is 1. With that in mind, our stay at El Cid Marina exceeded our expectations. The location was remote so that we were secure from any spring break wild parties. The location was perfect for a family and luxurious atmosphere. There were excursions for all of us and our teenagers were having the time of their life. They were scared about all the violence in Mexico, but all we experience at Mazatlan was peace and quiet. We had all inclusive and we loved the restaurant and its menue. We arrived on a Sunday and the brunch was to die for! We loved the staff and management, they made us feel comfortable and they were very friendly. You felt like a super star in an exclusive 5 star hotel. We look foward to coming in December of 2009. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience, we will never forget it.
