Need a new elevator
Staff are friendly and helpful, area is good close to the beach, main attractions and public transport. The rooms themselves need a bit of love, a fresh coat of paint and shower needs a new head but the bed is comfortable and clean and secure.
Elevator was extremely slow. Shower over bath in room was very slippy. Decor a bit tired. Big breakfast looked amazing but was very dry. Staff lovely and helpful.

Loved being close to the theatre. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Good location and clean welcoming foyer and reception area. We booked a deluxe queen room which looked like a standard room. Very annoying that the room only had one chair and no couch. So it was sit on the bed or the floor!! Minimal in room service with a crappy electric jug that you couldn’t fill as it wouldn’t fit under the basin tap. When I smarted up and filled it up with one of the odd glasses, it leaked all over the tiny bench you had to work on, which had no lighting so it was all done in your shadow. No exhaust fan in bathroom so everything fogged up big time, as you had to keep the door shut so the smoke alarm doesn’t go off. Slow elevators were a constant annoyance.
Price did not reflect hotel standards.
The property was lovely, very clean, nice comfortable rooms. Staff were friendly on arrival.
Limited parking. When we arrived there was a physical fight happening just outside the doors and it felt quite unsafe, later in the evening many of the nearby venues had a large security presence and there were no further issues.
We weren’t familiar with St Kilda or Melbourne so picking St Kilda Beach Hotel was a stab in the dark, it was great, I would definitely stay here again in the future and wouldn’t bother looking for any other accommodation.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, neat and tidy. The location was amazing, being able to walk everywhere as is felt like we were in the heart of the city was a breath of fresh air not having to jump on transport.
The mornings were spent in the Hotel cafe for breakfast which again was great, service and food. Arriving back in the afternoon from a day out we used the bar, we thought there had been a mistake in the price of our drinks as they were unusually low but we had stumbled into happy hour. It was all in all a great experience for us.
