Palmetto Cottage is a 1930’s Florida bungalow nestled in a canopy of hundred year old oaks and pines. A wood frame home graced with windows on every wall and lovely natural lighting, original pine flooring and a spacious front porch. Start your day with breakfast on the covered porch overlooking the front yard graciously landscaped with azaleas, sago palms, ferns and a variety of native palmettos. True vintage cottage surrounded by Live Oaks dripping in Spanish Moss. Perfect for a visit to to Micanopy! Great location on a quiet country lane a few miles south of town. We especially enjoyed the setting and the outdoor spaces. The hosts were great. We booked very last minute and enjoyed excellent communication. Plumbing is antiquated, but acceptable given the vintage of the property. Would happily rent again.
Country lane shared with a few other cottages and a picturesque little cemetery.
Great porch for dining and lounging.
Plenty of parking space.

We enjoyed our stay at the Palmerto Cottage. It was a cozy little cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed. The only trouble we had was getting the Televisions to work in both bedrooms. There was a large selection of DVDs to choose from, It would also have been nice to have a throw blanket on the sofa. We would stay there again if we were to return to Micanopy.

This is a lovely cottage in "Old Florida". It sits amongst old oak trees and palmettos laden with moss, just beautiful. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and the hosts were wonderful. It was a wonderful stay.

This private bungalow is cozy yet spacious, and conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville--with everything you need for a quick getaway or quiet retreat. Owners were responsive and welcoming. Super friendly locals. Be aware that some of the surrounding shops and restaurants tend to be closed early in the week (eg Mon-Wed), limiting your options.

The place was adorable. Loved the cemetery across the street. Very pretty area on road off the cemetery. Nice walk in the morning. Saw deer and a bunch of cattle.

Tucked away south of Micanopy

We stayed in the cottage while attending a UF graduation. It was a pleasure staying away from the congestion of G'ville. Instead, we enjoyed a beautiful drive via 441 right into town, about 15 minutes away. The mattresses were pretty soft - a 2 night max for me, thus the 4 stars. But the cottage was comfortable, we loved sitting on the front porch, enjoying the breeze & the scent of jasmine. The location didn't lend itself to taking walks, but there are nearby options for that.

Quaint Cottage

Very peaceful, relaxing setting. We used it as a hub to travel to nearby towns and springs. We did need to call the host because we could not get the tv's to work. They did respond and resolve it right away. The only thing that needs attention is that the locks on the jack and jill bathroom do not work.
