The B&B is in what was once a mansion. There is elegance, especially in the common areas, but there was a lot of room for improvement in our room. There was no way to lock our room door from the outside, so our things were not secure when we were not in the room. Lighting in the room was inadequate for reading. The doors to the TV cabinet did not fold back out of the way, so you had to be seated just right to see the whole picture. There was a lack of accessible outlets. The sink in the bathroom drained very slowly. Of three heat registers in the room, the one that released the most heat had a broken damper control. None of the windows in our room opened. The breakfast seemed chintzy- sliced fruit, two sausage links, white bread french toast- no whole wheat option- with home made caramel syrup- why not real maple syrup? It was underwhelming.
The owners were wonderful, so welcoming and not overbearing. The house was beautiful! It was so fun exploring, and the breakfast was delicious! Loved that they have a cat, Pumpkin, that greets you upon arrival. I have not one complaint about our experience! Will definitely be staying there again!
It was a very nice place to stay in Milwaukee close to downtown. Hosts were very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was excellent. It a really unique and cool house that we were fortunate to stay at for the night.
The hosts were wonderful and our stay was such a fun treat! Our visit started out with an informative tour of the beautifully restored house. Staying here felt like stepping back into time- a must-do for history lovers in Milwaukee! Our breakfast in the morning was wonderful! 10/10
The breakfast was delicious. Our room was comfortable and quiet.Owner was very personable and helped us with anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
I was hoping to be able to explore the area around the Manderly a bit, but did not get the chance. The silver lining is that this gives me an excuse to go back. The home was beautiful, the history behind it fascinating, the hosts lovely and good conversationalists and the breakfast delicious. What more could you ask for!
