About this property

Babich Building - 3 Bedroom - Upper Apt #4

Welcome to your private 3-bedroom suite in a charming 1926 Neoclassical-style building! Featuring high ceilings, big windows, hardwood floors, and cozy furniture, this vintage space blends history with modern comfort. Located next to the iconic Kegel`s Inn, a 1924 Prohibition-era speakeasy, it`s walking distance to American Family Field, close to downtown Milwaukee, Summerfest grounds, and the lakefront. Perfect for a unique stay in vibrant West Allis, just 10 minutes from the airport!

Short-Term Listing for the Babich Building – Next to Historic Kegel`s Inn

Welcome to your stay in one of West Allis`s most historic neighborhoods! Located next to the legendary Kegel’s Inn, this charming property embodies the rich history of the area with a story that goes back nearly a century.

About the Property:
Built in 1926, this beautiful two-story Neoclassical-style building was originally designed by The Hinckley Co. under the ownership of Paul Babich. Its early days housed the Grape Juice Products Co., a unique reflection of the Prohibition era’s creative ventures.

Featuring classic architectural details, including a stunning brick façade adorned with stone trim, a dramatic shaped parapet, and intricately designed entrances, the building marries 1920s craftsmanship with modern functionality.

A Historic Location:
This property is nestled next to Kegel’s Inn, a beloved cornerstone of West Allis since 1924. Once operating as a `Soda Pop Parlor` during Prohibition (but famously known as a speakeasy), Kegel’s Inn played a significant role in what was humorously deemed the `Sin City of West Allis.`

Today:
This timeless building, neighboring one of Milwaukee’s most celebrated restaurants, offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in a neighborhood steeped in history. With easy access to Kegel`s Inn and its rich story, you’ll find yourself steps away from authentic German cuisine and local character that has stood the test of time.

Whether you`re here for a short getaway, a weekend retreat, or a business trip, you’re staying in more than just a space—you’re part of West Allis history.

Don`t forget just across the street is one of the Best German Restaurants in the region with some of the best boneless duck we`ve ever had, ANYWHERE! Plus, you`ll find plenty of friendly faces as Kegel`s Inn has been the locals` go-to destination for authentic German cuisine and continues to top the charts as one of the best places to catch a Friday Fish Fry in Milwaukee.

Great location and it served its purpose as a place to sleep. The ac unit in the 3rd bedroom would not stay on making that room warm.
